nice and informative. i got two things to add though 1: if you join geometry of two elements which contain the same materiel, like a shear wall and slab, the common line can totally disappear. 2: when making custom fills to elements, it is better to put solid colors to the background and any hatch or pattern to the foreground. its not mandatory, but helps one in selectively hiding hatch or solid colors with reference to each view requirement.

Best beginner's tip is being able dimension an entire wall in one go. When selecting the aligned dimension, there's a drop down next to 'pick: Individual references'. Change it to 'Entire Walls'. Doing so ungreys the 'Option' box where you must tick openings and intersecting walls. Magic!

To add something for the Group function. It is nice to have detail group to go with the model group. For instance we Group our Grid Lines and Group the Dimensions with the Grid This way for each level we can attach Detail Group to the Grid Group without having to Dimension or Copy/Paste the Dimensions at each Level. On the same note: Another Dimension trick I've seen is How to Dimension Grids quick and easy. I used to go through and click each line of the grid. Not anymore. Draw a Wall item across the grid. Then go to the Dimension tool and Click the Options Button. Inside the options it has a box for Intersecting Grids. Click the box and then click the wall. and place your dimension. Once done select the wall and delete it. The Dimensions stay and you don't have to click each grid line anymore.

Revit only works in 2D, but it represents 3D you cannot move your element in the 3rd dimension like on Archicad, 3Ds Max or SolidWorks

When detailing the callout section and add the material ID, i got this kind of error message. how I fix that. "None of the created elements are visible in Section: Section 1 - Callout 1 View. You may want to check the active view, its Parameters, and Visibility settings."

Great video man. But I have a concern about the join geometry tool. The slab in such cases IS actually resting on the walls, or atleast the structural part of the wall, but you said otherwise. If that were the case, how would you show the wall and slab connection?
@balkanarchitect4 жыл бұрын
Yes yes I agree it should rest on the structural part of the wall. But for any additional detailing you can use detail lines and filled regions.

Hello why are the four arrow directional markers not showing when you open Revit? I mean during startup on a plain white background or project you are supposed to see those on a blank sheet? It’s not showing and so is the Level icon on the ribbon is greyed out. I can’t seem to begin even drawing because of that.

Hi Balkan :) - Do you know how to 'hide' elevations tags that are created in a call out? I don't want all of them to be shown on the main floor plan. I have seen in companies that I worked with that they have some setups that when you create a call out in a plan, every elevation or section tags within are not visible in the main floor plan. Not sure if this makes sense. I appreciate your help in this matter! All the best.
