Great to see you back on KZbin! I am currently stuck in finishing a course on violin playing, which I recorded in the summer holidays. I am a full time teacher and active musician, so my time is very limited. But I grew my email list already to around 100 people and not to mention my KZbin activities. Still, creating a course feels so much more demanding with all the back end stuff. I am looking forward to more videos and when I get time, I will buy one of your courses. Just in my situation it doesn't make any sense, because I am so busy otherwise. I appreciate every video though and gather the information and knowledge you spread to make it possible to some times actually launch. I actually already wrote a pre-sale mail to validate my process. But I am scared somehow.

Everyone is busy, but if you check out our mindset video you'll see how the only way to actually be "less busy" is to create the course to create the time freedom :) It's SO worth it to make it a priority and get it done NOW. Because a year from now, you will wish you had done it sooner!

@@MariahCoz true that! My autumn holiday just starts and I will do my best to get the course rolling.

Also it's the idea of passive income , once you are on Thinkific or Teachable it's pretty set up you just need to market it!
@VirtualTeachingPro3 жыл бұрын
Same situation here. What helped me was the idea that I took courses I already had created for my students and then just transferred that into an online course so the hard part was done which is creating the curriculum. I set out 2 weeks to film and upload and build out the basics. Holiday breaks work really well! Wishing you the very best. (ps I teach musical theatre and my husband is a violinist!)

Hello can a new published course be changed to Presell?
@giselle-cursosonline75783 жыл бұрын
Gracias Mariah! Saludos

Hey loved the video. I have a question, if I don’t reach my threshold but I’ve already pre sold some what should I do? Do you still release it or give the people a refund ?

Great video here Mariah! Your step by step guide is nice even the idea of putting a threshold for validation to know if you should push through with your course or you should tweak a little bit to make more sales out of it.

Thanks for the great advice, will use it next time!

If the validation threshold didn't pass, what do you do with the pre-sale $? Do you refund the money and tell the client you're going back to the drawing board? Or do you hold it and then tell them to come back once it's ready?
@VirtualTeachingPro3 жыл бұрын
I so want to know the exact same thing!

I hope I can share my views on it. Preselling a course should always be first based for a Introductory course to a bigger signature program. So even if the threshold is not met we can deliver it because for me even a single buyer is important. Think it as a little investment that helps you get testimonials and that builds the path for attracting more signup for the course. Once the Introductory offer is a hit and you see lot of signup on ongoing basis .. time to introduce signature program. Note - If you are a newbie , have no online authority of any of the social media platform then first work on that.... attract people with your knowledge and then launch presell offer

Do you have to label yr course a Pre-Sell ? Won't that scare prospects away. Would it be better to label the course "Intro to Whatever" ??...to get more uptake ?
@abigailvincent49094 жыл бұрын
So if the response is low would you refund the few buyers or you go ahead to create it. What do you do to those who bought the course even when the validation is poor

Hi! I love this video and it is so helpful! I have a quick question: what happens if you made 2 pre-sales when you wanted 5? Are you going to send the money back to the clients if you decide the course is not worth making?

What do you recommend if you follow these steps and receive a few pre-sales, but much less than you had hoped for (let's say under 10 pre-sales)? Based on the amount of time and effort it takes to create a course, would you recommend refunding these people and adjusting your approach/program to create a better offer and try again?

Yeah I have similar thoughts, my pre-sales minimum viable target is 75 pre-sales of a sub-$1,000 course. My two worries are a) going live on a webinar, since my public speaking skills are minimal, but the technical info I'll be revealing in my course is World-class, I don't want to dampen my courses perceived value with a mediocre public live webinar, and b) not getting enough pre-sales (75 is my minimum since there will be a lot of time [6 month progressive roll-out] and some expenditure [$15k] in order to build out the course). My strategy (if I do go the webinar route) is to pre-record a webinar in my own time, I may have to record it 5 times till I'm happy with how it flows, professionalism, no blunders etc! -> _Then_ promote the webinar as a recorded webinar for those that want to see the replay and sign-up, maybe over a 30 day period, eg. "We pre-launched our course! We're now looking to fulfill our pre-sales target to make it official, watch the replay and see if you want to get your hands on this proprietary knowledge and be _way ahead_ of your competition once the economy gains traction again... Once our pre-sales target is met on the beta-launch, the course will be locked-out from anyone that isn't enrolled until the full public release in mid-2021, so get in before your competition does!" etc. I think this will be a good strategy, I'm giving it one shot, but a really well planned shot with _highly targeted_ prospects...

What do you do if you tried to presell but sold only one copy?. Should I refund and ditch the course idea or should I move forward? (Asking for a friend ;P)
@MariahCoz5 жыл бұрын
Refund and pivot! In our Launch Your Signature Course program, we give you a template for how to notify the people you are refunding or offering them another option in a way that makes sense. Then we work on repositioning the course idea, tweaking and assessing what to change!

That's ridiculous! How about creating a simple google doc outline as sales page instead of building a sales page with mockup and stuff??? Otherwise you waisted your time with building mockups, sales page and stuff if no one buys....
