Honestly think this is one of the most underrated episodes of the show. I'm glad you talked about learning about the past through how the characters remember them, because I think this episode is one of those very special episodes where we get a proper look into the kids' childhoods. Not through much direct recollection, but as the adult business talk facade drops, I feel like you kind of see them regress into children and really get a feel for their dynamic. Feels very fitting that their little convention begins in a child's bedroom. That final Kendall tantrum is also such a powerful, tragic moment.

totally agree with what you said about flashbacks... i'd love to see them too but one of my fav things about the show is that they shy away from giving you the truth about recollections and memory. the thing in season one with roman and the dog cage, where everyone else remembers him liking it but he remembers it being a punishment or a game being played at his expense - it says so much about everyone involved that nobody quite has a clear memory of it, and it's such a good reflection of life too, because eventually at a certain point the truth becomes the story you tell rather than what actually happened. it all connects so clearly to what logan says to shiv in i think s2e9 about how the past isn't real, only the future is.

It's so frustrating to watch Kendall destroy himself every time he gets close to reaching his position. It's painful to watch and it's even worse every time he gets back in the ring.

Just gonna chime in with some show recommendations, hopefully I'm not too late to the party lol. If you liked LOST, you might wanna check out The Leftovers. It's made by the same guy (Damon Lindelof), and it "fixes" a lot of the weaknesses of LOST imo. It's more abstract, and definitely different, but it's a bit of a spiritual successor. Also has a fascinating idea at the core of it IMO. Also, if you like Watchmen, then the show for that is really good as well - also made by Damon Lindelof. Now, some TLDRs of some of my favorite shows that weren't brought up in the video (if you are really spoiler sensitive, you might not wanna read the TLDRs, but it is all stuff that you find out within like the first half of the first episode of these shows): - Attack on TItan: A story about how the last of humanity enclosed within walls fights against creatures of a mysterious origin, to survive and to find out what the world is like outside those walls. Great mysterybox style storytelling, dark, gritty, morally grey and epic, with some of the best twists and reveals in any show ever, and some of the great worldbuilding. - Bojack Horseman: Animated dark comedy about a has-been TV star and his struggles with addiction and other mental health issues. Starts a little slow, but has some of the best portrayal of mental health issues out of any show out there. Really funny, but also often depressing. - Mr Robot: Story of an introverted hacker who gets mixed up with a mysterous hacker group and some of the biggest conspiracies in the USA. Another dark, mysterybox style story done to perfection, great twists, mysteries, insane cinematography and editing. - Severance: We follow a guy who works at a company where they sever the work memories from the outside life memories in the employees. Possibly the best ongoing show out there, another mysterious story with lots of twists, a bit distopian, incredible cinematography and just a really intriguing show overall. - Dark: Here, we follow the mysterious disappearance of a kid in a small german town, and the investigation that ensues, and the mysteries that get unraveled. So yes, just to have some variety, this is another dark (namedrop), gritty, mysterybox story. It's a german show, pretty mindfucky, but really thrilling. (yes, as you might have guessed I really like dark stories and mystery stories lol)

I do LOVE BoJack, and haven't seen the others. Definitely some contenders here! Thanks for the suggestions

Great list! Among all these, it is probably Mr.Robot for me, because of acting, pacing, and as you said "insane cinematography and editing". Hot take: I think as far as Lindelof stories go (TV and movies), Leftovers is my favorite one. Yes, in my opinion, I think it is better than Lost, in many ways (in my opinion). One of the few shows I've re-watched a couple of times. It certainly hit very personal topics and spots for me. Although, it is "hard watch", especially later seasons, if you're somewhat prone to depression and/or melancholy.

Here's why Stewy sent the Trojan Horse to Kenny - In S1E9, Ken says to Stewy that Logan would not Sell the company in the proposed Bear Hug and will always go for 'Killing' it. Logan at the start of S2 kinda wishes to Sell the company, but Ken pushes him towards fighting the hug, while Marcia suggests selling. Logan is not happy with her because of that, even though he knows that fighting the bear hug could be bad for them. - Ken publicly guts Vaulter, showing how ruthless Waystar could be under Logan's leadership. - Logan comes up with plan of buying PGM and Ken pushes him forward for it knowing that there's no way people like Pierces would compromise on their "morals". This would mean the acquisition would fail hurting Waystar in the process. - In S2E6, Ken again makes the press conference/discussion panel at Argestes volatile and shows that the siblings don't work well with each other. - And in episode finale, he calls out Logan for wrongdoings at Waystar Royco. Now, it's upto you to decide how much of this was intentional. Stewy thinks Ken played the long game, hence the Trojan Horse gift!

Honestly LOVE this break-down. Really has me thinking back across the entire 2nd season again!
@kvm69 ай бұрын
@@MovieMan101 I doubt many have thought this deeply about it (idk, I have avoided discussion forums) Ken is great when he's not high, but when he isn't high he's low on confidence to face Logan. When he's high though.. well you can see it in season 3. Most of the show's fans see the siblings as spoilt brats that have no skills. Imo, doing that takes away layers from their characters. They are brats, but they also put in the work because they truly do wanna outshine each other to get Logan's approval.
