Brilliant video Crawford and very interesting how they work over there its also a beautiful country The discussion group sounds like a great idea. im sure it would help some farmers sharing ideas and different ways of working all heading to the finance side of farming. It looked like you and Mrs Gate lady had a wonderful working holliday. Thank you so much for sharing it with us and what wonderful people they are inviting you over and taking the time to show you around. Take care 💜

Discussion groups are awesome man, you learn so much. Good to have a mix of age and experience, young ppl trying new things to spark up the oldies and the oldies are guaranteed to have delt with any problems they younger ones are dealing with for the first time. Start off with just a “physicals” group, add the financials once everyone if comfortable. Farmers only compete for land and staff, work together on the rest 👍

Thank you for sharing your experience of New Zealand with us it’s very interesting and informative, it’s a country I would have loved to visit but I think my age is against that happening now. I found it interesting that they give no assistance to their ewes at lambing time which is the complete opposite here, lambing time here in my experience it’s every man woman and child available are expected to help with the minimum of sleep.

Unassisted lambing and fit ewes. The kiwis do it well and simply. I’ve said for a long time we over complicated sheep here in the UK. There’s a reason meat is cheaper in Australia and New Zealand.

I much prefer the Kiwi approach to succession, not so many entitled idiots who think they should be handed everything or as many grumpy old farts who won't let the next generation buy in and crack on.

More unwarranted slandering of the most biddable, sensible, predictable animal in the world: the sheep.
