How inspirational! Even when outside interference literally turned it's entire world upside down, it still found the will in itself, to continue along it's merry way! We could all take a lesson from "The Little Cutting That Did!" 💕💕

So true, Mandie! That’s why I just had to share it. Thank you, Chuubie! OMG! Frost and snow are not good news for succulents. Indoors and grow lights are your best bets to overwinter them. I agree succulents like your inverted cutting are uplifting reminders of how resilient life can be. I've accidentally dropped bare stem cuttings of echeveria on the hard ground only to be rewarded months later with plants growing and it's awe inspiring. Also I like your tip about not waiting for a cutting to callous over if you plant it in a dry mix so it won't rot.

These are wonderful videos. I I just found your site today and I just got my second box of. Succulents in the mail today. One of them got bumped around that I almost thought they forgot to plant something in one of the pots . I looked at it again and noticed some green plants sticking up out of the soil . I used a small brush to gently brush off the soil until I could see the whole little plant and I think that it may be a bunny ears succulent. I am going to pot up the other three succulents tomorrow . God bless you very much and again thank you for your wonderful videos.

2:00 If I let the pup heal and then plant it in moist earth, do I still need to wait 2-3 weeks to water it? I let the cutting heal for about a week before planting Also about the plants that built their root system in water, can you plant them in earth or do they need to stay in water forever due to how they've adapted to it?
@SucculentFame Жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes, I suggest waiting 2-3 weeks before watering it since you mentioned that you meant to plant it in moist soil. This is also especially if it’s cooler where you are at. As for your other question, you can always plant it in soil even if it developed its root system in water. They can adapt to living in soil. Thank you for the questions. Wishing you more blessings, love and good health! 🙏❤️💫

Hi! Love your videos! Just want to ask what kind of succulent is at 2:40? Because I have them and tried water propagation,When do you repot it after? Can I at propagate their leaves? Thanks!
@SucculentFame4 жыл бұрын
Hi! It’s the Aeonium gomerense. There is no particular time frame for repotting, ‘cause some grow roots pretty fast and some don’t. It is always best to repot them when they have more roots. They are more stable and mature when they have more roots. Most Aeoniums don’t propagate from leaves. As far as I remember, I have never had success doing so. They easily propagate through stem cuttings. My apologies for the very late response. 😅 Thank you so much for the patience! Wishing you more blessings! ❤️🙏💫

Hi, great video, can the water progation be used for jades top cuttings after they caliced (spelling) over? Can this technique also be used for other succlents in general. You mentioned they have to be wood. I don't think I have any woody ones? I am currently propagating some jade cuttings, and leaf cuttings from a variety pot I got a walmart. They are almost caliced over but I now the process takes quite a while. I am going with the let them sit out in indirect light to wait for roots etc. They are 3 day in and most have caliced over already. Thanks.
@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
It works on jade. I tried it on my jades. They rooted in water. I wouldn’t say it works on all succulents. There’s only one way to find out. 😁 Experiment, but don’t if you only have a few. I think the better time to experiment is when you have a lot to spare. 3 days is good enough. When the season is quite dry, they callus in as short as one to two days. Thank you for asking your question. I really appreciate it. ❤️☺️🌈

Your reply got stuck in my spam ugh. So, I let the stumps dry for 2 days then repotted them and will wait about 7 to 10 days before watering unless you feel watering can happen sooner. I guess we will have to wait and see. The root systems were pretty robust and I got alot of the old soil off but left a bit on.
@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
It is always better to postpone watering than watering too early. They won’t die if we postpone watering for three days more, on top of the 7 days without water. They are more likely to die if we would water prematurely. That’s how important it is to not water too frequently. 🤓

I have a question that I'm not sure you will know but you seem very knowlegable when it comes to succulants. If a plant is in its dormant state will it still send out roots? Thank you great video.
@SucculentFame5 жыл бұрын
Hi Katie, I THINK (so this may not be a fact 😃) they still do. I never really see the leaves stop growing in any season. They just continue to grow regardless. Although they grow faster in certain seasons (they differ). So, I would say they will still grow roots, maybe just not as fast...when they’re dormant. In fact, I’ve been wondering if they really do become dormant in certain seasons considering that I would still see growth every single day. Just a suggestion, try using a magnifying glass and you’ll see what I mean. (You don’t have to do it, but I think it’s fun. Or maybe just for me, I dont know. 😅😁 Can’t speak for everyone.) You will actually see their tiny leaves growing. Real signs that they are constantly growing as living beings. Thank you so much for asking. This is a very good question. I really appreciate it. Blessings to you! ❤️☺️🌈

Hi Succulent Fame! I have a little question about my purple echeveria, because I learned a lot from your "how to propagate succulents part 1 & 2" but i'm not sure what to do. After watching part 1, I cut the top of my purple echeveria because it was elongating, and put it in moist soil. But after 3/4 days i watched your part 2 and you said you shouldn't put it in wet soil. I looked at my echeveria and it is indeed not growing roots yet, but the tip is a little dry (i'm not sure if it is fully callused). Do you maybe know what I should do? should I put it out the soil and let it fully callus or should i maybe let it in?

another awesome video! what should you do if the plant is very dehydrated? i just got 2 pandas and two other fuzzy types that im not sure what they are but they look like pandas but without the dark/jagged edges with light green leaves. should i water first and wait a week or so till it is not so dried out, bc once its cut i cant water for a while and im worried they wont do very well. they have definitely outgrown their pots, one of the fuzzy types has 2 individual plants growing sideways through the rest of the plants and actually has 6 or 7 plants all crowded in one pot. all 4 have aerial roots growing every wheres and roots coming out the bottom drainage holes! they all came in 2.5 inch pots and were put in a 3 inch terracotta bc they clearly are to top heavy to stand alone in the nursery pots they started in. the other 3 plants have 3-4 plants in each pot!!! my husband got them for me at a farm market that was selling them half price bc the season is over. they are clearly stretched as well. just thought i would ask what you though would be the best plan of action!! great message at the end as usual, like usual it was very needed! thank you xo :)
@SucculentFame6 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, thank you, as always. I really appreciate it. And yes, it is definitely ideal that you water it and make sure that you water deep as I mentioned on Instagram. Like really make sure that every inch of the soil is soaking wet if they are very dehydrated. I suggest the you repot only around the 8th to 10th day after watering to make sure that they are plump enough. You’re doing great so far. And yes, be unstoppable. 😁 Go, go, go! 😃 I think your plans are great. Best of luck always. ❤️🙏🌈
@SucculentFame6 жыл бұрын
I also suggest that you put them in individual pots for now, ‘cause they are probably root-bound now, from how you described that the roots are sticking out even through the drainage hole. I talked about this in my repotting video. Plants that are root-bound are no longer getting enough nutrients ‘cause there’s barely any soil left in the pot. We just have to make sure that they are properly nourished again. 👍👌

Hi, Sasha! Leaves drying at the base are okay. Those are older leaves that need to go. Succulents also need to shed some leaves to make room for roots to sprout.
