Wow...this is absolutely priceless. For every Bengali born in the past 60-80 years, she was an integral part of our life. In today's crass commercial world, it is heartening to see someone taking the effort to compile a feature length docu on a Rabindrasangeet singer of yesteryears. I 've been enthralled by linstening, watching of bright moving images of the legendary voice of shargio Suchitra Mitro her life & musical biography. I'm also indebted to one of my late uncle Junnu kakka at GANDARIA, DHAKA in early 60's' who'd who first intoduced me with her songs. May god rest their souls in peace.I'd been to my 55 years teen ages...........Thnks to all concerned..

Satyajit Das, I understand your concern. But you also must understand that it was Gulzar ji's opinion, and he stated just the truth. He might have got exposure only to these two singers he has referred to. So, while narrating, the two names spontaneously came to his mind. He didn't have to do research for that. We must be lenient in judging him as he is a hindi-speaking person and most importantly since it was meant to be a tribute video to the maestro Suchitra Mitra Ma'am, it naturally came to his mind in association with Hemanta Mukherjee. So, we can't invoke any sense of shame or reproach in this context. There are several other authorities and exponents who have given their life in cultivation of Rabindrasangeet. But we can discuss them later. Let's amicably keep this video to Suchitra Mitra, a video of homage after she left us and went for her heavenly abode.
