I miss my pleco. He was my favorite. When he and my favorite bala shark died I planted them under a tree in the woods. Tree is going strong today. Its my fish tree and I check on it a couple of times a year. Love that their passing didnt go in the toilet...instead they gave life to a nice tree

Plecos are a terrible invasive species in the wild. In a tank they eat stuff other than algae, not what you want for an algae eater. They are a super dirty fish and grow too big. I always kill them when I see them in the wild and I use an Asian algae eater in tanks as long as the other fish aren't too aggressive.

@@Thedonsmoney25823 They aren't killing fish for no reason. As they said, the reason they kill them is because they're invasive. And they said they kill plecos only when they see them in the wild; they're not just running around killing people's pets out of spite. If you have a fish you can no longer care for and you can't find a new owner, then it's better to kill it than to set it "free" in the wild. Releasing non-native pets destroys entire ecosystems.

Years ago we had a large 450 gallon aquarium, and we had a single little pleco that was maybe 4 inches long, but he kept the entire tank spotless. All the walls, the plants, even the moving air bubble skull.

Try storing the algae wafers in the freezer . I do that for my baby tilapia it really helps

Usually yes, plecos get along with almost everything. I have never had a problem with goldfish and plecos, the size of the pleco and the goldfish would not matter neither are aggressive. I have only had problems with cichlids and plecos

I'm pretty sure post 10 is familiar with water cycling and parameters. As long as he keeps both tanks similar the fish will be fine, plecos are hardy fish most of the time, we have thousands I'm the river here because people dumped their tanks and they took over.
