Written by Mr. Marvin Gaye! This song is called "Wholly Holy" (two different words...typical Marvin Gaye wordsmithing in action). Both he and Aretha Franklin also have moving renditions of this great composition! I wish Mavis Staples had recorded this too but this performance remains unforgettable. I remember watching this in real time and realizing as a kid that Mavis Staples could SING!!!

I love Mavis' singing and have loved her since I was a young lady. The words to Holy, Holy are so indicated of the world that we are living in today . My husband, Sonny Mitchell, played bass for the Chicago Soul Stirrers and wrote a song, World Peace, which the group recorded. It really describes what we are experiencing in this world today. I personally wrote a song, There's A Man. I would love for Mavis' to record both songs, if possible. Mavis', contact me. I am on Facebook.. I have loved you forever. What is Purvis doing? I was sorry to hear about the passing of your other family members.
