Only issue I see is that it could be a bad module and not the motor. This tool is designed more to ensure the control board is not the issue

If the unit fails to spin the motor, you must still ohm out the motor (of course initially you turn the fan wheel manually)... if the motor ohms out properly and the tester didn't spin the motor, the module is bad. If the tester spins the motor and the motor also ohms out, the fan board or harness is faulty.

Why can’t you just jump the green. Check 24 Volts. If you don’t got it. Check the board. If you do the motor isn’t spinning. It’s bad

I have found even 16-pin motors can have different pin definitions. With 3 different my DIY testing harnesses, I may need to try to see which one may work. So is this tool work for all brands?

I doubt it there's too many out there now in 2021, it's a dummy tool for many techs that aren't to bright with control electrical skills, some get there faster than others & some just don't have it at all, that's wjy i always thought it's great to learn on old as say like carrier units that had a bunch of relays as controls & thats it, problem is alot that some new relay have pretty poor diagram explanations on it too so first some mjght be a trial n error unfortunately

Can bench test the motor using only the 24 volts to power the ecm tester?

The motor has 120 or 240 already applied, the 24 is the control signal to turn the motor.

In this video it's showing to leave the power wire connected. I spoke to supco tech support and they told me to disconnect the hi voltage to the motor. Any input?

First disconnect power plug and control plug to motor. Ohm the motor, check to the ground as well. Check motor plug if it’s getting 120v or 240v on air handlers . If it checks out ok plug power to motor, connect alligator clips to R and C 24 v on the control board plug this thing into motor and proceed as instructed. Or check if you are getting 24 v on 16 pin connector . Pin 1 is neutral (C) ,12 is R, 15 is G, pin #1 is blue and that’s where count starts . First row is 1-8, second row is 9-16. If you jump R and G on the board you should get 24v on connector between C and G. If that checks out ok your module is toast. If it doesn’t, your board is bad.Hope it helps

@@Elisummit845 tool is made for people that don’t know schematic of the pins. Also they make all wires white so you can’t differentiate🙁 Pin #2 -W,#3-C as well as #1 , #6 -Y1, #13-W2, #14-Y2
