When I was preparing to move to Madrid one of things I wanted to do while living here was to try this sleeper train, I arrived on march of 2020, never got the chance.

Such a pitty. I think it's a shame that Renfe sold these trains during the pandemic. The demand is higher than ever.

That is the old-version of Renfe's TrenHotel. The new version is more modern and better.

I know, i saw a video of the Traveling Clatt on the A Coruña - Barcelona train and that train looks much more modern. On the Portugal line I only saw these trains. What is a down side in the lines that will stay in Spain is that you'll only find the most luxurious cabins. I think it would be better, also from a commercial point of view to add more comfort categories. Actually I planned to go on thus train, and travel with the FEVE lines along the northern coast of Spain to France but due to the Corona outbreak I won't do that. I will do some new trip-reports soon though, the longest intercity in The Netherlands, the most popular route in The Netherlands and the route that's most interesting for international travellers that will travel through The Netherlands (mainly from north west Belgium to Germany). I have one a bit more exotic trip report that's not online yet.

I recommend or suggest to Trainviking a future travels with subsequent videos from Hendaia/Hendaye in French Basque Country to Ferrol in Galicia and León in Spain´s Castille-León region. The most extensive narrow gauge (meter gauge) network in Europe, with frequent commuter services, infrequent regional services, and freight service in decline, by rail companies Euskotren in Spain´s Basque Country and by Renfe after the defunct of FEVE in Asturias, Cantabria, the North of Galicia, the North of Castille, and León.

How can u book a simple sleeper seat on this train from paris to Lisbon and back? Secondly, is this a direct train from paris to Lisbon? And how long is the duration of the journey from paris to Lisbon?
@Trainviking2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, this service has been suspended. The trains are owned by the Spanish railway company Renfe, during covid renfe sold all their sleeper trains. However, there is a lot of political pressure to relaunch sleeper trains again (I don't get this. These are state owned companies). For now there are no sleeper trains to Portugal, as a matter of fact, trains between Portugal and Spain are extremely limited at this moment. Hopefully this will change very very very soon.

Does this train still go?
@Trainviking8 ай бұрын
Unfortunately this train has been canceled. The Spanish railway company (and this is why I really don't like them) sold these trains to India, even there is political pressure to launch this again (and the Spanish national railway company knew this), they still sold it during covid, just to have an excuse not to be able re launch it again if there's political pressure. Portugal is probably the most difficult country to reach by train in Europe. Even with this night tfain the capacity was too low, now its even worse.

Unfortunately there is no connection these days. Lisbon - Madrid, I mean😭
@Trainviking2 жыл бұрын
I know. I should make this more clear, I'll pin a comment for this. In the video I'm talking about the low capacity already, because there is a big demand, I can tell you that from an experience point of view. Covid and the war with Russia changed some things for video's I've made. The Thello services (I covered all) also have been suspended.

We are doing a long stay in Portugal in Feb/March, after we want to spend 11 days in France. Trying to figure out how to get from Libson to the Bordeaux area of France by train? Any help would be greatly appeciated
@Trainviking3 жыл бұрын
Oh this train has been suspended since covid. The Spanish railways sold these trains. The best way is I guess to take a bus to Bilbao, San Sebastian or Hendaye. From Hendaye there are trains to Bordeaux. From Bilbao and/or San Sebastian you can take local trains of Euskotren to Hendaye.

Be honest how is the checking in the train I want to travel illegal without money challenge
@Trainviking4 жыл бұрын
I personally don't feel the need to travel illegal whatsoever. I'm in for adventure but not by travelling without a ticket. When you want trains to offer services, paying for your ticket is crucial, especially on routes where there aren't that many trains it benefits the service and it woll show up in the statistics as well.
