Crawford would have looked far better in plunging necklines than in these high-necked suits. In the films she made after 1947, she always looked like a strict governess. The love relationships with her partners therefore always seemed unbelievable. Why she wore such conservative costumes remains a mystery. Maybe she wanted to hide wrinkles at her neck. That often doesn't fit the role and character and also doesn't fit the situation.Her hairstyles are also strict in those years and make her appear older than she should be.
