Nice to see a bit of industrial, love the colour scheme reminds me of 16 from Wilbert the forest engine. Can't wait to see more and keep up the good work. Regards Flying Scotsman Studios

Good to see another Sudrian Spotlight, been quite a while since the last one. Some very impressive modelling it looks great. I would like to see a n austerity bash project that sounds like it would be enjoyable.

Love the new visual episodes:) Great custom, if I could make that I would personally make a Newstead custom
@RailwayManiaNet4 жыл бұрын
Yeah Newstead would be a great prototype, this one is almost Newstead's big brother, as an 18" rather than the 16". I think the 16" locos may have been more common?

This is really good, going to have to find a J94 now to turn into Jessie (which should be slightly easier), great video and thanks for sharing
@RailwayManiaNet Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! Yes Jessie was one of 2 (I think, might have been 3) that had the Austerity-style bunker, not sure why the difference.
@BrecknockValley Жыл бұрын
@@RailwayManiaNet I’m not sure why, might have been something to do with fuel capacity or just the needs of the steelworks, idk about the other members of the class but I believe Jessie also has a spark arrestor built in which is interesting
@RailwayManiaNet Жыл бұрын
@@BrecknockValley What's odd to me is that the 2 with the square bunkers were the earlier ones (built 1930s) and it was the ones built in the 1940s and 1950s that had the angled one (as with the 50550s). I do wonder if it was part of the buyers' spec., perhaps to allow more space around the rear coupling to make them safer for crews?

This looks amazing. It reminds me of an engine in Thomas sand friends that was only in the railway series called 16 the industrial austerity/j94 shunter who went cab over wheels

Indeed the livery is very similar!

Speaking of saddle tanks, I've seen your Mk 2 Perseus on Instagram and Facebook and he's really an improvement over the first build especially with the Avonside designed smokebox. Is there a chance we could see a video on him when he's done?
@RailwayManiaNet4 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely! I just want to add RC gear first before I declare 'proper' Perseus done.

Will you do track plans of the steelworks and crovans gate?
@RailwayManiaNet4 жыл бұрын
One day, I'd love to! I think the steelworks themselves will be largely unchanged but I would like to alter an old map of Barrow to show the NWR coming across the Walney Channel. Here's a great website for comparing old and new: maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/swipe/#zoom=17&lat=54.11903&lon=-3.24131&layers=168&right=BingHyb

@RailwayManiaNet4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm trying to mix it up a bit and jump around the various railways etc., the ones I have filmed and ready to edit are the other BHS Co. loco (16), the TDA fleet, some of the Harwick Collieries locos, and of course more NWR ones too. So it'll be one of them, not sure which one yet!

Nice work corbs you really r making the world of sodor feel real. I my self want to attempt a realistic sodor. Also I have some questions hope you don't mind. 1- Are you going to include Chris Awdry's never was characters like Barry the rescue engine and the austerity engine. 2-Ive seen your spread she at and I seen the Hatt class 3's, do u have any idea what there gonna be. 3-What is your plan for steam on sodor, would it never be diesalized, is it gonna service in the 21th century like chinas railways or would they just be withdrawn. Anyways hope your doing well and have a good day. -from Quinton
@RailwayManiaNet4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Quinton! I'm glad you are enjoying the project so far. Answers to your questions: 1 - I've turned 'Barry' over and over in my mind for a while but not come to a firm conclusion yet, I've not ruled it out though. As for the Austerity, I have an example of the 'grandfather' (this one) and the 'father' (the SCC 50550s) of the Austerity class, so that's kind of a little nod to that, although my '16' is very different to the one in the books. More on that another day... 2 - My plan for the Hatt Class 3s (name subject to change, it's kind of a placeholder) is that during that period, the board were reluctant to purchase new engines, but rebuilds could be charged to the revenue rather than the capital account, so the 'new' class 3s would be rebuilds of older stock, rather like the GWR 'Dukedogs' which were combined from 2 older classes, I've not quite made up my mind yet but it's kind of a reminder to me. 3 - So 'in universe' I am keeping the 1968 BR ban on steam operations, which means that NWR steam is restricted to the island, the long-range London trains are replaced by diesel haulage but the express locos are withdrawn for the most part. Steam soldiers on but goes through a more gradual withdrawal process into the 1980s. The rough plan is for several NWR locos to survive the cutter's torch and be preserved, and for those locos to be the ones from the books, forming the NWR museum collection at Tidmouth (sort of coming full circle as they feature in the books!). Unlike some of the locos at Barry, which were nearly new when they were laid up, by the time the NWR locos are withdrawn they are thoroughly clapped out so mostly undesirable for preservation. I hope all that makes sense and answers some of your queries!
@younubs-12664 жыл бұрын
@@RailwayManiaNet Thanks for the reply. Maybe a good steam withdrawal date would be the year the Reverend Died but it would probably be too late in the timeline.

Kind of in the way that I’ve done a different ‘16’ and this one is in the same livery, so I’d already done 16 when this one was made :)
