I take it Percy is a nickname for this in this reboot world

Awesome! Percy has always been a mess, both mechanically as well as in regard to his pre-Sodor days. And you’ve definitely done him justice!

Question, considering the many design ques you took from other engines to create this model, what would you, in your headcanon, classify "Perseus" as?
@RailwayManiaNet3 жыл бұрын
I've since rebuilt this model a fair bit to make it a bit more like the Avonside tanks. There were many and varied industrial designs so it gives you a bit of leeway with fictional locos.

Could you do a video on how to make a loco RC operated? I'd love to have an RC engine.
@RailwayManiaNet5 жыл бұрын
Sure thing! I might try and film an installation on a diesel as they have a bit more space inside, so it's easier to fit things in, will put it on my list of vids to make :)

This Percy had some similarities to the Rev Awdry’s spare Percy model. Did you take some inspiration from his model?

I’m guessing in this reboot universe most engines were scrapped by 1953 or 1960s and 70 due to dieselisation by BR.

Yes although in this AU it's never taken over by BR, but stays independent.

Why the knuckle couplers?
@RailwayManiaNet5 жыл бұрын
My layout at home is a shunting puzzle and one of the things I really wanted was hands-off operation, so I've used Kadee couplers and track-mounted magnets to make use of the delayed action uncoupling. They aren't very realistic for a UK outline loco but for the operation they give me I think it's an ok compromise (at least until I can get tiny robot shunters to operate 3-link couplings for me...)
