Sue Bird is truly the spitting image of her father, The Great NBA Legend LARRY BIRD! One of my favorite players of all time, and it's great being able to watch his daughter play for my home city: Seattle Washington! Many times have I seen Sue and Larry at the SeaTac airport but I'm too shy to approach them. UPDATE: I have just been informed that Larry Bird and Sue Bird are not at all related and the last name is a product of sheer coincidence. Please disregard anything I said, but my opinion still remains: these players are/were tremendous for the culture of basketball in both the NBA and WNBA! (Who were the people that I saw at the SeaTac airport??)

Some of these comments are garbage. Have some respect for a human being reaching excellence. Your sexism isn't funny.
@WutTheDeuceGaming6 жыл бұрын
a lot of the blowback you're seeing here is because they're constantly complaining about the "wage gap". Doesn't exist of course, but the WNBA players expect to be paid similar to the NBA players when their revenue is bad, their attendance is also bad, and their TV viewership is also bad. They brought all the hate on themselves tbh. It has nothing to do with sexism.
@Dripster766 жыл бұрын
@@WutTheDeuceGaming this hate was way before pay gap
@truehistory84406 жыл бұрын
You're lumping everyone into one giant category. While there are some that make the wage gap claim (which, as you said, for the WNBA is more of an issue of revenue), not all of them are. Sue Bird for example has said that she specifically isn't saying women should get paid the same as men, just that the business around the WNBA needs some reform and less sexism towards her sport. She just wants to succeed like any other human being. So again, this is just some highlights of her balling out, she has reasonable views, SHE doesn't deserve this shit, just like a lot of WNBA players.
@truehistory84406 жыл бұрын
Are we watching the same highlights? How is it "crap"? This is great basketball. Sue Bird is talented. And your argument that since it's less popular (most people not knowing the playoffs were happening) means it's "crap" is pretty lame. Honestly, I don't know why you enjoy being hateful here.
@truehistory84406 жыл бұрын
Nobody is arguing about whether it has low revenue and viewership. Do you think that's what people are debating here? We know that. People are just saying that they are talented and deserve more respect than they get. And with more respect comes more revenue. You're perpetuating the problem by hating on it needlessly. If people like watching good basketball, let them enjoy it instead of hating.

Every highlight was the same. Just show her shooting from 3 feet past the 3 point line 1 time and you've seen her game. No defense in the WNBA, especially when the majority of shots are from almost half court. I am trying to get into the WNBA but it's so repetitive of the same plays and shots. If they started dunking and defending I'm sure I'd watch it more.
