I went to high school with an EDM artist and he said it was a pattern he noticed that people who listened to emo naturally gravitated to EDM music like the two were linked whether by vibe or musically both etc and i totally get it ❤

They don't really have the same vibe at all, but Falling in Reverse is another band that is wicked great at "genrebrnding", as you said. I guess you would call their baseline like emo punk, but they do really well with screamo, rap, harmonic melodies, branching out into other instruments like piano & orchestra strings, and even a country song (lol). Their music videos the list several years have the quality of a short Marvel film.
