For those of you who don't understand the video, The dad is a detective who beats his daughter to the point of near suicide. The daughter, looking for revenge, then puts together a whole case for him to investigate, including the dead horses, the writing in the garage, and finally at the station. Once he arrives at the station, she's waiting for him, and kills him by striking him with an axe in the back. (Not the front, because they weren't True Friends.)

if any one needs help understanding the video: The father is a detective, but he mistreats his daughter over the years to a degree that she contemplates suicide (as depicted in the beginning). So the daughter "sets up" the case for her father to solve, the father being unaware that it was her, to lure him into a trap at the end. She strikes him in the back, not the front, because they weren't true friends.

Absolutely love the new music style of Bring me the Horizon, some are complaining but this has to be my favourite album. Best lyrics I've heard in a long time and Ollie really shows his vocals off and it really shows how this band has matured. Can't wait to see you live in February, keeping going BMTH.

This band is art people judge music for sounding heavy ( even though this isn’t their heaviest of songs) but it’s like if only more people knew the artistry these types of bands show through their storylines and music
@ihateeveryone81619 ай бұрын
Isn't their heaviest song? This is soft rock compared to some of the music they've made in their time. Anyone who considers this "too heavy" Isn't a fan of music, they just like slow noise.

I love their new music style, I don't know why people complain about it. They're still amazing
@EchoGrid9 жыл бұрын
+Sara Urtecho Because A: people have different tastes and B: people think that they have the right to tell a band what to do because they financially supported them in the past. The first reason is valid, whereas the second in....is not.
@saraurtecho99459 жыл бұрын
+Echo Grid yeah, you're right, but their new music style is not bad at all. Changes are good, they can't keep doing the same forever, it'd be boring.
@TheLolilol3219 жыл бұрын
+Sara Urtecho You're talking about the matter like it was completely objective, while it's not. Depending on what you like, music can sound good or bad. What you find sounds bad someone else can enjoy, much like something you enjoy can sound bad to someone else. The exact way it works with things like food and design, not everyone thinks the same food tastes the best or the same jacket looks the best, it all comes down to your very own opinion. And I believe they really could do the same thing for a lot longer, at least. I'm a big fan of their older stuff and have yet to get bored completely. If people complain about the new stuff, perhaps they were not bored with the older stuff? The band can however do whatever they like really.

so the main character is a detective troubled with anger issues. in the past, he stole his wife from the other man in the bar, but as the other man said, "he lost her". the detective's marriage thus also falls apart and in one of the many angry fights, he kills his wife, buries her somewhere and claimed she was missing. however, the only person who truly knew was his daughter, who he repeatedly abused in the time after the wife's death. she contemplates suicide, but decides that revenge is the only way. thus she mutilated the horses, left the spray painted signs foreshadowing her father's demise, leaves a message calling him a murderer and finds her mothers buried body. she sits her mothers corpse up, shown by the wedding ring, and lures him into the trap, where she finally takes her revenge on her murderous abusive father.

It's honestly getting really annoying reading half of these comments because a lot of you who claim you're "old fans" of bmth keep on dissing their new stuff. Yeah, I understand their older stuff like Suicide Season is different from their most recent stuff like That's The Spirit and I also like their older stuff more but I still appreciate their new music and you don't have to complain about it being different on every fucking video. If you're a real fan just learn to appreciate all of their music because it's completely normal for any bands music to change over the years. Does anyone agree with me?

+snapoutofit People have different tastes in music, and if a group changes from rock to pop for example, and you don't like pop then you don't like their new stuff, but you shouldn't really post a comment saying "OMG I HATE THEIR NEW STUFF OMGOMGUHGUHGU" because 1 its just a waste of time and 2 if you don't like their new stuff don't listen to their new songs and specifically go to the new videos and write a stupid comment for like 4 minutes claiming to be a old fan and saying that their new stuff sucks, thats just uncool and downright disrespectful, the band can do what type of music they want, they won't change just because a few people are like "OMG GO BACK TO DUH UDER STUFF PLZZZZZZZZZZ, NO? So the daughter "sets up" the case for her father to solve, the father being unaware that it was her, to lure him into a trap at the end. She leaved messages and photos dor the case. When he was talking with the other man, he thought he was talking about murdering the wife, not hitting the girl. At the end the daughter sits her murdered mother, the father sees it and she appears. Okay, so first of all, this was not just a music video it felt like a whole movie with an actual plot and a very well directed screenplay. Tbh, the first time i watched this i didn't understand everything but it got me very intrigued, so just like when i watch a movie that i don't fully understand but it hits my mind with the intrigue i start doing research about it trying to understand what i couldn't and i did the same with this music video because it had me really intrigued and i wanted to understand every small details. So i found out that the man in the music video is a detective who has lost his wife (i first thought that she apparently left him because it was explained only in the of the video). And he has anger and temperament issues and abuses his daughter for no reason. His daughter has had enough and wants to end this "THIS ENDS NOW" line screamed expresses her anger very well. She wants revenge. So she sets up a case for her detective dad to investigate, the case with the murdered horses. Those horses were shot in the end, (very good refrence to Follow you here). Then she also makes up that whole writting in the garage and calls him a murderer, who or what has he murdered? Her mom? or maybe he has murdered his daughter as she feels dead inside after going through what her dad makes her endure everyday (i actually like this interpretation). I really liked the other refrerence to Follow you when they are sitting at the bar you could hear the song playing, genius!! His wife left the other man at the bar for him, but then he couldn't keep her either... Then when he returns home he finds out that everything is out of place and that his daughter has went missing. The other guy then tells her that she's been hiding at the old station and thats when we found out that his daughter has found her mom's dead body and so its made clear that her dead killed her. She stabs him from behind to kill him and take revenge for her mother and for herself. She doesn't stab him from the front because she doesn't even consider a friend, he is just a murderer and justice has to be served. Overall, this was a whole amazing cinematic experience!! I have never seen a music video like this that is so challenging to follow yet it makes you curious enough that you want to understand it better. It really is an effin MOVIE!! Loved the dialogue parts, very origianl idea there too and the fact that we could only hear the music during the dialogues and not what the characters are saying gave it a mysterious and thriller type of feel. Also the way the lyrics match so well with the scenes is another genius move, lyrics like "you can run but you cant hide cause Karma has no deadlines" shown with her dad's scenes where he finds out that he's about been served the karma that he deserves was perfectly well done. Brilliant BRILLANT WORK from Bring Me The Horizon, im speechless.

Beautiful film and music. The muted colors and dim lighting gave the video an authentic feel. The acting was superb. I really love the vibrating of the camera in such a way that it's almost as you're seeing the sound waves shake the air. The breaks in the music for the acting scenes were great and well thought out. Also I was crying in the first 30 seconds. Love this album, this sound and this image! I remember when sempiternal was released and it was great, this record even exceeded that.

Oliver I've never told u this brother.. but listen... I was abused and my sisters both mentally and physically in many cycles of ways till we were adults... A part of our lives just went terribly dark and was hidden and hushed and now we're all scarred and damaged and fked. Barely sane... Thx for sympathizing with stolen innocence. And things like mental illness also... Ur hitting the mark of a good artist...

Oli Sykes wrote a song about a previous relationship where he was betrayed by his lover. He no longer wanted to deal with her and believed he would take revenge because Karma couldn't escape. Sykes explained to Kerrang! : "True Friends' is about certain people who really cut me off. To be honest, this applies to a lot of people I've known throughout my life. I don't hold any hatred or anger towards anyone, because it's too draining," "It's about me coming to terms with the situation - it's about telling people that I can forgive, but I will never forget. From now on I will always keep them close."

The father is abusive towards both his daughter and his wife, which ends with his wife killing herself. The daughter almost does the same thing. The father has an affair with the wife of the man he meets in the bar. That´s why he blames the father for ending his marriage, although they didn't have a good marriage to start with. Another reason for the mothers suicide could've been that she knew about her husbands affair. The person behind the horse and the other messages is the daughter, because she wants revenge on her father. The father finds the woman he had an affair with in his garage and gets sad and also scared I would guess. His daughter killed her because she knew about the affair and wanted her gone as well as her father. She then kills her father by hitting him in the back of the head, not the front. Because they are not true friends. The reason why we can't hear the father speak might be because he doesn't confront people directly, he doesn't stab people in the front so to say. This is just a theory. There's a lot of theories but I don't know which one to believe in.

i imagined this in a forest where they're running and where oli is behind glass (in a jail) and lee punches the glass, grabs oli by his collar and they run out of the jail into the forest, trying to find everyone but when they find them they're already took over by demons and they try to turn them into demons and they turn oli into one first and lee is the only one still human and they all find lee and stab him in the front with the blade covered in poison to make them become a demon. .-. crazy right?

True friends stab you in the front=Amigos de verdad te acuchillan de frente.

For anyone who wants to know what this video is about and doesnt want the long descriptive vers. This man(beard) abuses his daughter and killed his wife out of anger, hiding her body and reporting her missing. The daughter knows what really happened and whats to expose him. She send letters and pictures telling him she knows what he did and plans to get revenge which is seen at the end when he goes to the abandoned station and finds a corpse which he knew was his deceased wife. She then most likely kills her father and runs away.
