This song was actually released the same day (February 24) my grandmother passed away. Up to that moment, I could not wait for the release because I recently had gotten into Sueco's music. It was crazy to me at the time that the song was finally out after so much hype on socials and I was excited; and at the same time I got the phone call informing about her death. In a sense, coming to terms with even talking about the matter has been really hard. The subject matter of the song is in line with the same feelings of solace I found after mourning her. What I mean by that is that prior to her death, the feelings I had within myself were similar to what the song refers to (a voice in your head that criticizes you for everything you do). Once she died, everything collapsed for a bit. I decided to live in her legacy by becoming everything she would have wanted me to be and to not be down on myself, as life moves forward one step a time. I stopped pressuring myself to do everything all at once and began cherishing the moments in my daily life more. This song will forever mean something to me because of that. Thank you Sueco.

Honestly this song would have been the best to listen to during my suicidal days. But thank god I was able to stick with therapy and I got better. I realize that therapy sucks and if I die it would be worst then going to therapy so I said I rather live life differently
@Ghosthorses4 ай бұрын
I’ve been depressed/suicidal since my teens. I went to therapy over the years here and there, meds here and there as I “thought I needed them” then stopped, and maybe should’ve continued therapy…2 marriages, a long term relationship after…I’m 47 now. A year ago my boyfriend tortured me for 2 hours and threatened to kill me as he beat me. I ran when he had to open the safe. I had to hide behind a wall outside and behind the neighbors car as he looked for me. He had a rifle. I realized afterwards that I didn’t want him to off me. I really didn’t want to die. He eventually offed himself on the porch as I watched. When you sit by yourself, it’s hard to think of any alternative, and I have looked up things I shouldn’t since because the pain is so bad. But in the end, I remember that I had the audacity and power to live and maneuver behind walls so I could go on. I know it’s hard. I have to face the anniversary of that shit next month. I have wanted to end it so much. I drink too much, I cover up my lack of self worth. But I still hang on to hope. Because I lived…2 hours. I could’ve died. So I’ll push on…. till it’s my hour.

Not saying this song is bad. I just don't like it. Kinda outgrew this type of music a while ago. But the lyrics to the chorus are fucking spot on for someone dealing with phobias, anxiety, and depression. I'm 35 now and in therapy. I take several different medications and I'm struggling desperately to bounce back to feeling some type of "normal". The reason I'm saying this is I assume there are younger people, than I, listening to this song and I pray at least one of these younger people sees my comment. If you are feeling bad about yourself. If you find yourself in a "mind prison" where you are your worst enemy. Where the thought crosses your mind that the world wouldn't notice you are gone. DO NOT WAIT! Start seeing a therapist or psychiatrist. Open up and share. Do not bottle these feelings and think you can win this fight alone. I did and I seriously regret wasting so much time. Now I have to undo years of damage that I could have easily avoided. You matter to someone and don't convince yourself otherwise. If you have ever felt this way, I love you. I know what you feel and what you're going through. We will make it out. Together. Please, love yourself!
