Woooooah, I never thought I'd see two of my worlds cross over like this! Suede was always one of my favorite bands as a youngster, but in America it was hard to get ahold of and never got to see them live, but Brett Anderson is so incredibly underrated, the whole band really. Love to see one of my favorite review channels tackling them though, so much to dig into. They've got that androgynous but pure sex feel to them, very Bowie and Morrisey in Brett's style. In this song, he's talking about someone being his drug through their sexual encounters. Animal Nitrate is the drug here. Similar to their song Heroine. Remember, Suede was happening in England the same time that Grunge was happening in the U.S., the entire BritPop scene got passed over until the early 2000's. Suede is the sonic equivalent of the movie Trainspotting. Thanks to whoever recommended this one!

Loved this song back in the day! Was lucky enough to be stationed in the UK in the early 90s - so I got to experience so much of that great BritPop that most of America missed.

The curtains and carpet also remind me of the Red Room scenes in Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks season 1 came out in 1989, so it was recent and a big cult classic still in 1992.

You should check out "We Are The Pigs" next, it is my favourite song by Suede. But the pigs in that song are of a different kind, they have nothing in common with the pig in this video.
