I loved Dog Man Star and couldn't see where they would go from there. When I heard "Trash" it was an Oh My God moment. It was absolutely stunningly good, so optimistic and full of energy. Every single after that and then the album was mind-blowing. The image of the band with Neil especially was complete too, I saw them in 1997 at Dublin Castle, it is the best gig I have ever been to by some distance, an incredible night. Brett Anderson arrived on stage grinning and spraying water around as happy as you have ever seen. Best concert? Suede, Dublin Castle 1997. Just by a mile.

Love the material that was recorded around the main suite of songs as well, like for instance one of my all time favorite Suede songs The sound of the streets.

Damn I love Suede. In a wonderful way they got to have two debut albums in a sense. That vigor, pomp and energy of a brash first effort - all over again. Those two albums, "Suede" and "Coming Up" are just ridiculously good

Sci Fi Lullabies shows that there were just as many good songs left off the record! e.g. Europe is our playground - why on earth they didn't include that on Coming Up I'll never know!! It's one of the best things they've ever written!

Absolutely. Sci Fi Lullabies is my personal favorite release of them. Some of the best songs they've ever written are on that album. Europe Is Our Playground is a fantastic song.

@@henrysilence Same Sci Fi Lulls is also my favourite.. So many quality tracks it's ridiculous! Flashboy, Together, Young Men, Every Monday Morning Comes, Have U Ever Been This Low?... etc etc It's enough to make a really solid double album of twin discs called Coming Up / Coming Down, one of the more bright upbeat tracks, the other the more angsty introspective ones..

@@jasperhalco871 That's a good idea. I love how half of it is pretty much a third Butler/Anderson album, and the other half is like Coming Up from a different dimension. There's no b-sides compilation quite like it.

The b-side of Trash version of Europe is so much better than the Sci-Fi version though… This Time, too could have made the album better

Saw suede live Valentine’s Day 1997 Carlisle sands centre age 13 with mansun as support. Fell in love with them as a band from there.

Same band name Suede was there in US and interrupted the Suede's US tour and they add 'the London' to the band name. 'The London Suede' Sounds so ridiculous. Meanwhile their US tour plan was cancelled. So sad and so underrated.
