honestly, suede was singing about doing H and buttfucking, they were more grunge than Nirvana. Just more attitude and better melodies and guitar work.

@@susangallagher1247 They were like the diamond dog era Bowie the way they sang about seedy nights and drugs etc. Always remember the animal nitrate intro in that rundown council block with Bernard Butlers swirling guitar riff opening the song in 93. That's when I knew the British bands were making a new wave of music. Cracking memories.

I met Brett in Atlanta before their show in the first half of the 90's. I loved their musical style...maybe not all of the lyrics. Before that night, I always thought he was flamboyantly gay....another thing I did not support. But, it became clear that evening that he was a very straight and intensely masculine man. His onstage persona was an act for the masses
