I have just starting painting at 74. I have watched three other videos this afternoon and found yours the most helpful. I like that you admit when something is not to your liking, showing how to fix it and tell us not to worry. I hope the person who wrote the negative comment has learned not to sweat the little things after the last year and a half we have had. It is so important to BE KIND. Our country needs to heal. Thank you.

Sue, I have watched literally hundreds of videos on how to paint for beginners, how to brush, stroke, how to paint roses, wildflowers, buildings, etc., but not a single one comes close to being as careful and as detailed as you are in this video teaching about the kinds of brushes and how to use each one. You are unquestionably the best instructor I have seen on this issue. Furthermore , I like everything about your approach: Closeup so that we can actually see how you load your brush, how you hold, move, and direct your brush. There is no waste of time, no self-adulation. I will be looking for other videos by you regardless of the claims of others about their talents. No good to me in my efforts to learn unless their teaching is effective. Your instructions are superior. Thank you.

You are a great teacher. I am a beginner in acrylic painting (many years I used to paint watercolor, but I was a novice). After 35 years of teaching at a University, now I want to try on acrylic as my retirement activity. I like your video, since it gives me the basics about painting and the use of brush and color. I have seen many tutorials on KZbin,. Your tutorial teachs me the fundamentals. I live in Boston, wish I was close to where you live in Canada, so that I take a face to face tutorial. Thank you.

To be very honest I don't know the answer to your question, as I have never used water colours. My guess would be yes and I have never seen brushes just for water colours. I know there are brushes for oil paint and then acrylic paint. I don't know if I helped.

@@suegaitartist7166 there are specific brushes for watercolour and this morning after I watched you I went a searching and I think I can get them all in the brand Princeton which is along with silver black velvet my go to brush… but your watercolour brushes can be used with designer Gouache, but they do recommend different brushes for acrylics… The only brush I could not find was the one similar to a fan brush that is more open… I love roses 🌹 my mother grew them and peonies when I was young. I have tried and tried and failed to paint them, but maybe now I can actually succeed with some practice.
