Davina Michelle is a Singer Songwriter from the Netherlands she is 27 years old. And she learned to sing by herself no lessons. In February 2017, she started her own youtube channel where she would upload her cover version of an English-language song every week. On 21 August 2017, she posted her cover of "What About Us" by the American singer Pink. In October, glamour posted a video review by Pink where she called the cover amazing and said "That's better than I will ever sound".The video went viral, after which she performed multiple times in TV programs and radio stations in the Netherlands. In 2018, she participated in the eleventh season of the Avo Tros -show beste zangers. In the fifth episode, she performed a cover of the song '"Duurt Te Lang" by rapper Glen Faria (also known as MC Fit).Two days after the episode was broadcast, the song reached the first place of most downloaded songs on itunes in the Netherlands. Later in 2018, it reached the number 1 spot in the dutch top 40 the mega top 50 and the Dutch single top 100. In November 2018, the single was certified gold. She not only becomes the Dutch female singer with the most weeks at number 1, but she also becomes the first solo singer to lead the Top 40 with a song for 11 weeks. It has never happened before that a Dutch singer has been at the top of the charts for so long. As if that wasn't enough, in 2019 she won the 'Music Moment of the Year' award. She also knocks singer Céline Dion off the throne by being in first place in the Top 40 for one week longer. Then the song is 5× Platinum[ After Davina has recovered from her success with Duurt te lang ('Takes too long',) she releases her new song 'Skyward'. Davina again achieves great success with this song and also receives a gold record for this song. And platinum. In 2019 she got to open for Pink during her beautiful trauma world tour in the Netherlands. Davina dives into the studio with Marco Borsato and Armin van Buuren. Together they release the danceable song Hoe Het Danst '(How it dances)' with another great success. The song is in first place in the 'Dutch Top 40' for three weeks. The song also has success in Belgium and the single will be in the 'Belgium Ultratop 50' for ten weeks. And she also receives a gold record for this song. And 3× Platinum. Then Davina released the song 'Beat me' with great success. The number serves as the official number for the 'Grand Prix Formula 1. And she also receives a gold record for this song. And platinum. On 18 May 2021, she performed her new single "Sweet Water" at the first semi-final of the eurovision 2021, held in her birth city Rotterdam, as part of an interval act titled "The Power of Water" alongside Dutch actress Thekla Reuten. On 5 September 2021, she performed the Dutch national anthem ahead of the 2021 dutch grand prix. The first formula 1 race to be held in the country since 1985. She repeated her performance for the podium ceremony after Dutch driver Max Verstappen won the race...... She also won 3 Edison Awards (the Dutch Grammy's) Now she is still releasing new music and she is performing in the Netherlands and Belgium and she is starting to perform in Germany.

Great reaction again. The power of water, a live performance of davina is also something you would like I think. Other great dutch artists are Kovacs with the metropole orchestra (the devil you know), Ilse de lange, kensington (with sorry or uncharted - live), Anouk, Danny vera, waylon, Anneke van Giersbergen. Also like the Beste Zangers you als have the Belgium version of that called Liefde voor muziek with Sharon of WT, that's great too. Enjoy!

Since Davina was in the Beste Zangers show her career went up like a fast train. One of the beste zangers song became a hit, she was asked for the theme song for the Dutch F1 Grandprix and also sang the Dutch national anthem on that race and she did the pause act on the 2020 Eurovision contest. If you like the voice of powerfull ladies you also have to take a dive into the "ladies of soul" One of my favorite is the Aretha Franklin tribute.

Pink is a fantastic singer...this was a heavy lift, but the young lady is so talented! I'd be interested to hear (when...) what she does for original material...and whether she writes songs or would use music given to her...I'm thinking of the powerhouse songwriter, Diane something... tons of musicians have recorded her work. And she writes hits...lots of em!
