Amazing! I've practiced martial arts for over a decade and just recently started learning with the bo. It is foreign to me and I'm very awkward with it atm so I can appreciate how difficult it is to look so effortless.

Seeing that mud spot on your knee reminds me of a thin spot I had on the right knee part of my gi in Kenpo because of a spin sweep we had in one of our forms lol. All the black belts had that same thin spot ROFL!

Jesse's other kobudo videos sparked my interest in training with weapons along side my karate training. This is the first kobudo kata I am trying to learn, and even when I slow it down to 0.25xspeed, Jesse almost still too fast to follow lol. It has given me insight into how difficult beginners find normal karate kata, which I assume to be obviously easy as I have practiced them so many times they are as natural as walking. It is a good and humbling experience to find myself back in a situation where I feel totally unsure, and overwhelmed, and hopefully will give me more empathy and understanding when trying to teach karate kata.

For the second time I give it a thumbs up. For you, this means nothing, but for me it means that I recognize your ability and work hard. And, for my 45 years - 20 of them dedicated to karate - it's something to be considered. I always thought you were an average student, because you take a lot of your teachings lightly, sometimes even too relaxed. and I don't speak for the sake of being a competitor in your curriculum. Competition is nothing when your soul is dressed in a karate gi. Today, I congratulate you... Today,.. Tomorrow belongs to God.

Jesse Sensei, if I want to start with kobudotraining, which direction, which master-lineage , would you recommend to me? For example, there is Matayoshi-Kobudo here in Germany and near where I live. 🙃 As I see right now, this line is the only line. If you got the question, you have the answer already, right! 😅
