Well done, Bonnie! I like this cocktail. Joe Scialom was a great bartender! He was part of the very old Egyptian Jewish community that was kicked out of the country in the 1950s.

I like them both, but I think I liked the first one the most! You should definitely go to Tiki Tatsu-ya if you ever have a chance. You can also order the mugs on their website.

Was at tiki tatsu ya last weekend it's amazing. Most unique tiki bar I've been, the decor is next level. Made a great zombie there. When I tended bar years ago we were taught never to shake carbonated ingredients. Carbonation went on top after combining the other stuff. Interesting to see the recipe call for starting with ginger beer then shaking it. It didn't come out flat tasting?

The ginger beer was never shaken. I put it in the mug first and poured the shaken stuff on top of it. I just found their order of operations a little unusual since I normally shake, pour and then add the carbonated stuff. I agree that Tiki Tatsu-ya is awesome. I tried the Slurping Bastard, a mai tai, a daiquiri and a few sips of one of the group drinks.
