Thank you Ajahn Brahm! You are a great gift to the world. You've changed my life, helped to heal so much pain in it. I've been able to let go of so many things painful and painless and feel liberated as nothing seems to have so much power over me. I have no words to express my gratitude but only feel..I wish I could get the chance to bow to you in real life. Thank you innumerable times! Hope you feel our gratitude.

I have been listening to Ajahn Brahm for the last eight years, I'm so thankful that this old grumpy and fat monk has been at my side, sharing his wisdom through thick and thin, calming me down when I was stressed out, and giving me life changing advice on how to relate to other human beings, no matter how much I experience and learn, I always enjoy his talks, thank you so much for your service, Ajahn Brahm.

However, when you have an addicted brain - opiates and benzodiazepines, it's hard to feel hopeful as the brain is sick. Can the mind heal the brain? And have I just answered my own question? Lol. "The ending of the defilements is for one who knows and sees this. I say that this knowledge of ending has a vital condition, it doesn’t lack a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Freedom.’ I say that freedom has a vital condition, it doesn’t lack a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Dispassion.’ I say that dispassion has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Disillusionment.’ I say that disillusionment has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Truly knowing and seeing.’ I say that truly knowing and seeing has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Immersion.’ I say that immersion has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Bliss.’ I say that bliss has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Tranquility.’ I say that tranquility has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Rapture.’ I say that rapture has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Joy.’ I say that joy has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Faith.’ I say that faith has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Suffering.’ I say that suffering has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Rebirth.’ I say that rebirth has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Continued existence.’ I say that continued existence has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Grasping.’ I say that grasping has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Craving.’ I say that craving has a vital condition. And what is it? You should say: ‘Feeling.’ … You should say: ‘Contact.’ … You should say: ‘The six sense fields.’ … You should say: ‘Name and form.’ … You should say: ‘Consciousness.’ … You should say: ‘Choices.’ … I say that choices have a vital condition, they don’t lack a vital condition. And what is the vital condition for choices? You should say: ‘Ignorance.’ So ignorance is a vital condition for choices. Choices are a vital condition for consciousness. Consciousness is a vital condition for name and form. Name and form are vital conditions for the six sense fields. The six sense fields are vital conditions for contact. Contact is a vital condition for feeling. Feeling is a vital condition for craving. Craving is a vital condition for grasping. Grasping is a vital condition for continued existence. Continued existence is a vital condition for rebirth. Rebirth is a vital condition for suffering. **Suffering is a vital condition for faith.** **Faith is a vital condition for joy.** Joy is a vital condition for rapture. Rapture is a vital condition for tranquility. Tranquility is a vital condition for bliss. Bliss is a vital condition for immersion. Immersion is a vital condition for truly knowing and seeing. Truly knowing and seeing is a vital condition for disillusionment. Disillusionment is a vital condition for dispassion. Dispassion is a vital condition for freedom. Freedom is a vital condition for the knowledge of ending. It’s like when it rains heavily on a mountain top, and the water flows downhill to fill the hollows, crevices, and creeks. As they become full, they fill up the pools. The pools fill up the lakes, the lakes fill up the streams, and the streams fill up the rivers. And as the rivers become full, they fill up the ocean." suttacentral.net/sn12.23/en/sujato

Hallo, I want to ask, how about if this channel activate the community contributions to translate the videos on many different languages so everyone can read the Dharma. Honestly I don’t know about that very well, but I know that it is possible. Of course it would be better if everyone can hear it on his mother language. It is maybe not for young people who can speak English too, but for old people who cannot.

Question. Does anxiety depression medication make you unable to truly heal, feel for yourself, forgive on your own, prohibit you from becoming enlightened, etc?
@chloen3020
@chloen3020 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! There's a talk online somewhere titled dealing with depression by ajahn Brahm which covers medication and the need for it in clinical depression. Psychiatrists recommend psycho-therapy alongside medication and I've found Buddhism a wonderful form of therapy.
@erasmus9511
@erasmus9511 4 жыл бұрын
Medication doesn’t prohibit you from having mindfulness. Your body needs it and anti-depressant works wonders! Although medication doesn’t make you to be more “enlightened”, but it does help in bearing the anxiety and or depression and it has a much more instant effect than say, forgiving or healing on your own. Forgiving and heal have a long-term effect but it also needs time and more effort and usually people don’t have enough energy to do this. And this is where medication could help.

I appreicate what you are saying, but i have been in severe pain and housebound for 10 months because i can not find any health care in Canada. I cry every day and have no hope. i want to die. I cant mediate because its so painful. I don't have any hope for my life andI am only 40. Maybe you had support from a community or family, but i have no one because i have been sick so long.I find what you say is too simplistic and I used to find your talks helpful, but now i find nothing to be helpful.

buddah's bones are in the earth & he's dead... WAY TRUTH LIFE = JESUS CHRIST ...since (ODDLY) this showed up in my suggestion I thought I'd share that this religion is a deep, deep deception & it's literally time (time's almost up, too) to get right with God. The One God, Most High who created everything. Yes, He created light with a Word. He breathed the stars...don't u want to spend eternity with THE creator who breathes out stars, speaks light and gathers your tears in His bottle? Writes your sorrows behind those tears in HIs Book? Psalm 56:8-9 " You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. 9 My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side! " Look, seek, knock... He will come in.
