Is there meaning to life, or is it all random chance and circumstance? What about life after death? Is there an eternal hope for me? I just came on here and my brother was diagnosed with colon cancer but he is still living and they wouldn't do surgery on him but he's doing fine. I preached that way in the 1980's and it got me to where I was kindly asked to LEAVE!!! So I took the word to the streets to the ones stuck in addictions. I’ve got a small carcinoma on my adrenal gland. Going to see the consultant in a few weeks time. I wouldn’t accept any chemo or radiation. I’m in so much pain with Poly Rheumatoid arthritis that I couldn’t cope with the treatment. Nor would I be able to get to and fro to the hospital for treatments as I’m totally alone and it would be a difficult journey. I’ll go to the appointment but just to see what they say. I’m not afraid to die as I belong to Jesus. I was hoping to go Home in the Rapture. Just longing to go Home asap anyway. I’m grateful to hear your story. I just came out of my second lung surgery to deal with the latest episode in my stage 4 metastatic cancer journey and I continue to find strength and wisdom from people like yourself. In reflecting on my own perspectives and choices on my illness and treatment, like you, I have chosen to give conventional cancer treatment a real chance. But rather than simply suffering from the debilitating effects of chemo and surgery, I have chosen to focus my energies on matters personal and spiritual. I tell my friends that my medical team is fighting for my life so that I can be free to fight for a life worth living. Listening to the holy spirit was my success. He asked me to make a choice because he knew I wanted to go home.. and he showed me my life with different eyes. I chose to live. I had sysplotin treatments..once a week for 7 weeks with 28 minutes daily radiation 35 days. After 6 miserable treatments the 7th and final treatment had more chemo in final dose than previous 6 combined. Lights out for 6 months with my weight going from 225 to 146. Very few atheists in a cancer ward as with fox holes.

I agree with your line of thinking. I have two kinds of breast cancer. I had surgery, 12 rounds of chemo, and 15 radiations. I have chosen not to take 10 years of estrogen blockers that will reduce my chance of recurrence by 50%. The side effects are just not worth it. I’m 68 years old and firmly believe in what Paul said in his letter to Timothy to “get a firm hold on the real life.” We can easily deceive ourselves into thinking this is the real life because this is all we have experienced. The life to come is going to be so delightful with no end, and we need to do as Paul said, get a firm hold on it! If we should fall asleep in death due to this disease, it will be like waking up from surgery. We’ll be in that real life. It’s just the ones left behind who love us who will suffer. Their day will also come, and we’ll all be together in a paradise earth where sorrow,sickness and pain will be no more. Thank you for your encouragement. By the way…I’m a Hoosier girl too! 😃

Brother, I'm sure you are fighting spiritually, with God's word and have chose to live like you say according to God's word. Also there is a good amount of research about juicing with cruciferous vegetables. I'm not sure if you can do that while the treatments. But just see if you can juice in addition to your faith and treatments. I'm glad you eat healthy. But try juicing and alternative treatments like you say. God bless you brother and Live!!
