This song and video break my heart every single time. He is a good actor, but I think this song means so much to him that whenever he "performs" it, the emotions come so naturally that there is no need for him to use his acting skills. He's been like that from the very start and when he says he loved music they did in One Direction I believe him. It's inspiring to watch a person who is genuinely involved in what he does. Girl Crush amazing cover too, but I don't know why it breaks people's hearts it's just so beautiful and has a lifting vibe, it's not depressing at all (or maybe it's just me). I also don't get it why people make such a big deal over Medicine. I have heard this story, correct me if I am wrong Harry basically just had a shower and he came out just in his towel and one of his mates was playing some random tune and harry really liked it, so just at the moment , still standing in his bath towel, they wrote falling in about 20 minutes, for that tune. That's how we got this masterpiece.

I worked on this video. It was shot in a huge pool at Universal in California. They built the room you see here, and lifted it up with a crane, slowly dropping it into the pool. There were scuba divers. Breath teams. More safety people than I have EVER seen. It was an amazing experience helping their visions come true.

You should see his live performance at the Brits 2020. It was very touching, he was robed by knife the day before or so. He was shaking but did very well. There are so many reasons to love this man. I'm so happy that you decided to listen to this song and I agree with you that this is like a mini movie. The beginning of the mv is actually the ending of the video and you can see that he managed to survive and learn to overcome the obstacles in his path. I think Harry is a genius when it comes to all of his music videos and songs. If you want more of "actor Harry" you should definitely watch the Adore You music video (it was nominated for a Grammy for best music video) it's basically a short film and the acting is incredible. If you want a happy song from Harry I would definitely recommend Kiwi, Only Angel, Canyon moon, and Treat People with Kindness. If you are asking for my fav Harry songs I would recommend Fine Line, that song is beautifuly written and so underrated. If you want more 1D recommendations I would suggest A.M. (it's my favorite) for Niall I would suggest Nice to Meet Ya or The Tide. For Liam I think it's best to start with Strip that down or Stack it up but my favorite of his has to be Midnight because it's the reason I am in this fandom. I don't really listen to Zayn as much but I would recommend Pillowtalk or Outside

I personally think that falling is the aftermath of one of his songs called to be so lonely. (one of my favs) Tbsl is based of a drunk phone call (the beginning of the song sounds like a phone ringing) where he’s saying he needs space but then in falling he realizes how much he misses said person and how lost he feels without them. I recommend listening to tbsl and for Liam reactions remember, Polaroid, midnight, and bedroom floor. The fandom loves Liam very much and knows how talented he is but I don’t think his album unlocked his full potential (voice and songwriting) as he only wrote a couple songs on the album. There is a live preformance of you and I after zayn leaves where Liam does his high note and it is amazing. Thank your for the reactions! I think TBSL chronologically comes after Falling and Cherry and that they're all steps of coming out of break-up and coping with new reality of you two not together anymore. Cuz Falling seems to be very fresh, Cherry is the dwelling on the past and not letting go but generally healing without realizing it and TBSL is a "junkie slip" when you thought you can communicate with the person now but apparently it still hurts. But that's just my interpretation, he might have had completely different meaning behind it while he wrote that :)

Golden is definitely a sad song dressed up as a happy song. But Falling is the real gut wrencher of the Fine Lines album. Its heart breaking and the video is so gorgeous and perfectly emphasizes the sadness in the song. The last few seconds of the video break me because he starts twitching like he literally is about to drown. I don't know if that was acting or if it was because he literally couldn't hold his breath anymore but it's so haunting.

Harry’s Fine Line is very interesting because it’s meant to be listened in the order the songs are separated. Idk if the cd version has this important separation but the iTunes version doesn’t have it. Anyway, in the vinyl you can see the separations and with them you understand the story Harry is telling us. Golden (not sad), Watermelon Sugar, Adore You and Lights Up is the “first chapter” of the story. Cherry, Falling, To Be So Lonely and She, second chapter. Sunflower vol. 6, Canyon Moon (it’s said this one is dedicated to Stevie Nicks) and Treat People with Kindness is the third chapter. And last but not least, Fine Line is the fourth chapter. Let me recommend you to watch Harry’s performance at the 2020 Brit awards. You’ll see how deep Falling affects him, even though the circumstances were different. He was mugged at knife point and then one or two days before his first serious relationship (during his first years in 1D) committed suicide. I’d recommend to see the performance while being analyzed by one of the best singing teachers I’ve found in KZbin. His name is Sam Johnson and I requested the analysis. Let me get you the link
