Some of us look like your Uncle or even your Dad but, the 50 or 60 others that he grew up with in his home neighbohood know the other 3,000 that used to show up at the club & theatre shows we ratholed up in '82 - '96. Just cuz myley cyrus started wearing 3/4 sleeve baseball concert shirts with faded & torn denim tucked into her hightop throwback sneakers sportin' dat mullet don't make it a uniform (copying cool only works for so long anyway, poseurs always choke in the end). Just because you can copy a look doesn't mean the o.g.'s meant it that way and that it was the only way. We wore that style because that's what was comfortable and what they were selling in the stores back then. I remember some disco guidos/deadhead retreads/new wave rehedges sporting pretty much the same shit but with a "Members Only" jacket/hippie buckskin fringe/disposable pleather & safety pin montage instead of our biker/metalhead leather. It's more like how we made ourselves feel hanging out altogether before, during & after the shows and on the streets gawkin' at each other at the mall/head shop/record store/party spot trying to find patches to sew on the coat/new freaks to hang with/riffsbeersmokeweedgasmoneygetoutofworkpickupthewomanrestringtheaxeburnbabyburn. That's when you knew you were part of the crew.... when you started giving it your all.... when you ate, sleep, drank and shit METAL 24/7 - day in/day out. Don't hate, it makes you uglier than necessary and tougher only to yourself. #realrecognizereal

Besides the band it is also very intestine to see people critique the the way the band looks and their playing. I am 20 years old, still very new to music, but this to me has never been a concern for me since I like to let the music do the talking. I never knew what scenes were like back then or how they looked like and who was involved, now a days I hear scenes can slightly be more segregated based on how you look, what you like, what you believe in, who you hang with, all that social status bs. Where as back then everyone of every background came together to enjoy one thing, and that was the music. Yeah these dudes look like some ordinary peeps you'd find somewhere, but when they're behind the instruments all hell is unleashed. While some bands dress for the occasion, some bands just don't give a shit (just like Suffo ) and just wanna rock the fuck out and have a good time. Love death metal and love me some kick ass brutality death fucking metal \m/!!! Fuck an image!
