Suffocation is brutal as fuck, and i am not talking about in a musical way, i'm talking about the playability and "technicity" in guitar, the savagerism in their riffs, the notes

No idea how or why youTube recommended this to me but I'm glad it did! I first heard Suffocation on the Corporate Death compilation that Relapse put out way back in the day.. I think I was in 8th grade? All those bands were so extreme to me cause the heaviest bands I knew at that time were Slayer and Sepultura. But of all the bands on Corporate Death, "Infecting the Crypts" by Suffocation stood out like crazy. I bought both Human Waste and Effigy of the Forgotten and probably listened to those two CDs more than anyone else on the planet! I know those albums back and forth, every lyric, every tempo change, you name it, then I discovered Internal Bleeding, Broken Hope, Pyrexia, etc and the rest is history! Anyway, great vid (and great Les Paul!)

Thank you. My friend Joe had that same Corporate Death album when I was in 7th grade, and that's exactly how my brother and I got into the same bands. What a small world. Wow.

@@guitarcleveland lol that compilation was amazing (plus it had the thickest insert/'booklet' ever, like 36 pages or something)... in addition to loving Suffocation on that compilation I also really loved General Surgery, early Amorphis, and of course the legendary Macabre! I discovered so many amazing bands from that compilation as well as Death Is Just The Beginning Vol 2. Eventually I just started buying any CD that had a Relapse or Nuclear Blast logo on it, and almost always I loved what I heard. Relapse is like a totally different label now, not really a fan of anything they put out these days

@S S Yeah, those old compilations were awesome. My brother and i also used to come home from school and watch Napalm Death Live Corruption and Sepultura Live in Barcelona almost every day. The early 90s was such a great time for live shows, and my fabulous era was for metal.

excellent playing holy, even better that it's done on a les paul haha (did you swap the pickups out?). Would love to see some more Suffo covers. You're funeral inception video helped me out a lot since trying to get Suffo riffs done by ear is extremely difficult.

Thanks for the compliment. My guitar is all stock. It's the Bias Amp 2 software making it sound like that. Take a look at Songsterr online, since that's where I get most of my tabs from.
