Ibn Uthaymeen’s explanation to the Hadith: 1) Allah created Adam in the way he has chosen and tied it to himself to honor it like the camel of Allah and the spirit of Allah. 2) Allah created Adam in his figure, and that doesn’t necessitate likeness.

That fact that our ummah can not understand this Hadith and it's proper meaning is a sign for how spiritual dead we are. There is a way to understand this. And it doesn't involve shirk and it doesn't involve saying Allah is like anything. First off you must look to the name Allah used. ArRahman. ArRahman is not a physical thing is it..... No. It's an attribute of character not of physical likeness. If the literalist Muslim who wishes to take everything literally might they like to explain what arRahman looks like exactly? Of course not. I'm sure Allah can show us arRahman pertaining to himself. However when it comes to Allah attributes in creation these evidences are clean in the world. Love in your heart wouldn't exist without Al Wadud being it's origin. Is this correct or incorrect? Let's examine this when it's applied to Adam. Adams image is to be a person of Rahma. Why is this difficult to see people?? There is a Hadith which says alMumin is the reflection/mirrow of almumin. Some people wish to says it's only about the Muslims reflecting each other. But there is a great explanation which states almumin is the reflection of alMumim. Meaning that when you see a believer you should see the reflection of Al Mumin/the Trustworthy/Allah This is straight forward and very true to what we are supposed to represent in the world. So yes Adam was made in the image of arRahman. And there is no problem with that.

And not they were commanded except that they worship One God. (There) is no god except Him. Glory be to Him from what they associate (with Him).

Samir Saddiki Good and valid point but making takfir is a deep issue and has its fundamentals and ofcouse the shaykh knows why he didnt deem the kuffar.It can be argued he should have at that point but perhaps there is underlying principles that ought to be established.The deen is very deep and where it may seem things are straight forward it actually is not.

But since Allaah has affirmed them for Himself, we ahlus sunnah affirm them for Allaah.
