My cousin Matt introduced me to your music back in 2008, this album specifically. I fell in love with Illinois (of course I'm biased in favor of the album, Illinois is where I was born and I have a lot of family there). After his death in 2011, I treasured your music like a keepsake. And then when my grandma died in 2016, Carrie & Lowell became a bitter sweet refuge for me around her death. I haven't watched The Politician, but I might start because if the show runners have good enough taste to use this song as the opening, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that the show itself is good too.
