The literal definition of Daechwita would be “blow and strike” it’s a traditional military marching song it was made most prevalent during the Goryeo and Joseon dynasty and this MV took place in the Joseon dynasty and also Suga who’s real name is Moon yoongi is part of the Yeoheung Min clan which is one of the most influential clans in Korea and he’s a distant relative of empress of the Joseon Dynasty Empress Myeongseong💜

@@moonray61 That’s an interesting take on it- if we’re being specific we can probably deduce Suga had a heavy hand in the financial aspect of making this solo MV most likely the same way the other members were responsible for theirs too. (He certainly has the budget cc his black card lol) The OCT2019 interview ( time.com/5681494/bts-bang-si-hyuk-interview/ ) where Bang PD stated “BH doesn’t produce solo projects” also implied this and that paragraph helped me deduce BH’s wildly intelligent and fair business model when it comes to the group members doing solo projects. No other company in the K-industry does it THIS well and it’s so refreshing and uplifting to see considering what happened to talented artists in big groups like CL, Hyolyn etc. The intro tidbit is an interesting fact I just wanted to share- there’s a lot of new fans watching this solo MV who probably haven’t noticed it. Kudos to you though for spotting it early on. If anyone else has info about BH’s solo project strategy it would be cool to know. BangPD is also another type of genius. ✌

daechwita, is the traditional monk's chant announcing the arrival of the king. you get to hear a bit of it at the beginning. suga is implying that now that he's risen to be the king of his domain, all he has is to look down. he realizes he wants more, that there is more. so in order to achieve that, he kills his alter ego, king, in order to return to his slave roots, so that he may rise once again with something new.
