People tend to misunderstood BTS a lot especially since their getting more recognition lately with songs like Butter, Dynamite, and etc. Ppl tend to dismiss them as a poppy group, but once u dive into their albums and Korean songs. It’s like a whole new world. Their discography is so diverse, and I hope ppl start listening to that too, cuz they’re missing out a lot.
@KARIAP2 жыл бұрын
People listen to: Butter, Dynamite, PTD, Boy with Luv, Idol and then they think they're a pop group and I can't blame them because many of their most popular songs are pop. If someone listened to Mic Drop and On first, they would have a totally different image of BTS in mind. The first three songs a person listens to define the general image he/she has of them, unless that person decides to listen to a lot of their songs. Their new Album, Proof, which got some demos leaked, show that the concept is powerful this time, not poppy which will change the people's first impression. But anyway, let's admit it: BTS is a POP Group because many of their songs are pop. Sure, RnB, HipHop, they did them all and has success in all genre. But they're pop. Bieber made rock music, but he ain't considered rock. Same for them.

"suga has the potential to be the biggest artist in the planet" HE ALREADY IS, but he is alongside his 6 other brothers. BTS dominates streams, sales, concert tickets, fanbase, tours, social media...etc He is BTS. He is an essential part of BTS. He makes music for bts, writes his lyrics in bts and compose and produce many bts tracks because he is in the group. They have the same quality of music anyways.

This is what I thought when I heard his comment. xD But I do understand his perspective. He doesn't know anything about BTS. He only knows the stuff which is said by non fans & haters. He doesn't know how big BTS truly is , and with this SUGA as well. We, ARMY, know that BTS is the members main focus. All the solo projects are side projects, which they also don't promote. I'm curious to see how far his interest in SUGA will go and if he will end up checking BTS stuff. .

@@sugaisrealkingforareason588 This has nothing to do with jealousy. It's simply about hinting someone, who doesn't know BTS, that BTS music is worth checking out. Yoongi is an important part of the BTS production & writing process. So downplaying the quality of BTS music would mean you would downplay his work. Of course Yoongi's solo projects (same as other members solo projects) are also different. And yes you are right, SUGA brought in many fans, who are into hip hop, checked out his music & then checked out BTS and now love BTS. But I don't understand that you seem to not want ARMY to explain non fans about SUGA & BTS. BTS is so important to Yoongi (according to his quotes), why should someone, who is interested in him, not learn about his passion & life? Also, no one is forcing him to like BTS. Of course there is a chance that he will only like Yoongi's solo music. But there were many like him, who were positively surprised by BTS.

*This beat was produced, by suga. Suga is called a genius producer (also referred as hands of medias by korean media). He makes his won beats. His mixtape D-2 in which daechwita is there is the most streamed album by a kpop solo artist. His mixtape topped the rap digital when it came out. KSI also reacted to daechwita. Suga aka Agustd as an artist is know for his raw yet philosophical and introspective lyrics. He is one of the fastest rapper in korea. React to Agustd by Agustd next. The MV concept was also his. A bit of a background about suga, Suga has been making beats since he was 13. His music career was not supported by his parent so he ran away and started selling his beats on the street but most of the time his beats were stolen, Predebut his stage name was gloss. I will keep on adding more informtion about suga in your future suga videos. Suga overall is an real artist, who has sacrificed a lot pursue his passion i.e. music. Just as much as their vocal line. Suga is my bias, he is a genius at what he does but they are all insanely talented. All have very successful solo work too. Just a recommendation, if you watch Agust D, watch Give it To Me straight after. Both MVs are connected plot-wise. To check out more of BTS rapline, do their Cyphers 1-4. To watch a man fall in love on screen is hilarious. Your face says everything. 😁 Folks hate on SUGA and BTS. You know he's swaggy, raw, and real so you KNOW he ain't gonna be in a group that's not swaggy, raw, and real. Folks need to look past the commercial title stuff and realize that this is a business that true artists have to navigate, but when you give them unlimited funds and a platform you get this. BTS' label gives them full reign to do whatever the F*** they want. I mean, his solo stuff is FREE. You can get all the songs off SoundCloud. It's not about $$ for these artists. It's about the art and yeah..there's usually a message with it. 💜💜

I think it's because people think BTS is a poppy group when the reality is that they're a hip-hop based group lol it's just that their really famous stuff are pop songs. They have 3 rappers, two in which come from the underground hip-hop scene in Korea, including Suga. They're serious rappers, but people don't give them a chance because they dislike their pop stuff lol BTS has a ton of hip-hop songs, not only solos from the rappers, but the group itself
@rain_y012 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say they are a hip-hop based group. Yes, they started as a hip-hop group but now they have lots of different genres in their discography. So, I don't think we can consider them one genre or another entirely.

@@rain_y01 but they weren't saying they were one genre entirely, which they aren't because yes, they do do other genres and are super experimental with their sound (amazing, love their stuff), but hip-hop is definitely their base theme that so far, they've always come back to and it feuls so many of their songs
@taizhut48622 жыл бұрын
Even though BTS has tried many genres, you can see that they always come back to their hip hop roots. Especially, their appreciation for '90s "classic" hip hop is clear. Because they have so many songs that bring that era to mind. People who listen to their discography can see that clearly--it comes up in so many songs--not just the r&b--but so many of their B-tracks. Only the title tracks that they push out for US radio are pure "pop"--and even then those are great. But anyone who really looks at their music would realize how much depth they have as a group.
@harshithreddy45782 жыл бұрын
Hip hop??? 😂 bts is hip hop?? I heard their hip hop stuff, that's not hip hop, like boom bap, or cutting edge hip hop stuff. This was done to their faces on a radio show when Suga and RM were only 19, 20 yrs old.

Ok real talk, SUGA's music changed my mindset and often led me in the right direction. SUGA is like an onion, there are layers to him and layers to his music. Many people like me get hooked on the straight heat like Daechwita and then stay for songs on his mixtapes like So Far Away. I hold the song So Far Away close to my heart because the lyrics offer me comfort and solace from a perspective I've never heard from anyone else. Suga's music is meaningful. It's hard to understand him if you don't follow a full body of his work. I think you would benefit if you checked out one of his mixtapes in order. I recommend his latest one called D-2 since you already listened to Daechwita which is D-2's title track. I'm considering getting a tattoo of one of his lyrics from that album.

Thank you for saying it. I hate when people hate on a group/person b/c they're popular. BTS has been around since 2013! They didn't just materialize as a popular group out of nowhere; there's a reason they're popular lol. There's a reason you'll find that the fans you have commenting on any videos of them are more likely to say they're 53 than say they're anywhere under 20yrs old. I'm 34 & I was a member of the BTS ARMY back in 2015 before they were popular in THEIR OWN COUNTRY. When they did start getting a decent fan base most were outside their country. Thanks for listening to more Suga/Agust D. I suggest checking out the other rappers of BTS: RM (Rap Monster - he doesn't go by this anymore) & J-Hope. All 3 of them have their own style. RM & Suga were producing & rapping before joining BigHit entertainment & starting BTS. J-Hope was a well known street dancer with the dance crew Neuron before he joined. Below are a few tracks from the rappers of BTS, I tried to grab tracks that were all different for the solos to show their versatility. I marked the ones without an MV with a (*) but they do have lyric videos &/or performances. All 3 rappers together: "Ugh*" "Ddaeng*" "Outro: Tear*" < these are great live especially the last one. the 1st 2 its best to check out the explained by a Korean video by DKDKTV after due to the wordplay. Suga - "Agust D" "The Last*" RM - "Joke" "Do You" "Seoul*" "Change" ( the last is a collab with Wale) edit: RM is fluent in English & easily swaps between it & Korean. "Change" is in English. J-hope - "Hope World*" "Airplane" "Chicken Noodle Soup" (this last one is a Korean/Spanish/English redo of Chicken Noodle Soup by Young B & Webstar)

Well, that changed when some of the trainees left and it turned into a Hip Hop Idol group. He has been producing/writing for BTS from the beginning, and their older stuff is hip hop, RnB style. They evolved over time to include more genre's, but the three rappers in the group have rap line songs, and they all three have mix tapes. His name is Min Yoongi, his stage name with BTS is SUGA, and his solo project stage name is Agust D. His mixtapes are 1 - Agust D, and 2 - D-2. If you decide to check out the other rappers in the group - another member that also came from underground rap, and is the group leader and main rapper of BTS, RM has 2 mixtapes - RM and MONO. Then there is J HOPE - he has one mix tape - Hope World. He started as a B-Boy with a dance crew Neuron, and he learned how to rap from RM and SUGA and developed his own style. He's the dance leader, main dancer, and a rapper.

Just a backstory on the song: Daechwita is a Victory Chant/Song/March well known in Asian cultures. This song, in particular, is written for all the 'haters' that accused him of being talentless and selling out 'rap' to pop. RM and JHope have also experienced this. So, for example..the line about his haters 'popping pills cuz they got no skills' is directed at the talentless underground 'rappers' who think that doing drugs makes them more creative. So, this is Min Yoongi's Victory Chant over all the taters, who are still no-name, talentless nothings. While he's the King, he's the Boss of the Industry. He's made it to the top, and they're just jelly. More backstory: He would produce his music and sell it for little to nothing, just to eat. Most days, he ate nothing at all. Alot of times, his work was stolen from him. He worked odd-jobs as he was training for BTS. He was a bike courier and was involved in a serious accident that caused severe injury to his right shoulder. So, this man has literally pulled himself from the gutters and sits atop the world, now. Just more reasons to love him. So, please...do yourself a favor and don't let your taters dictate your life and what you enjoy, either. Delve into BTS, and be amazed. There's plenty of vids of BTS 'behind the scenes', games, etc., so you can get to know them better. They are very active with their fan base, and show their love and dedication to us. So, it isn't just the music and talent that we love about BTS. Its their mutual love and respect for us, that they are never remiss to show. That's why they have the largest fan base of any group. BTS and ARMY are one.

I started listening to BTS through suga mostly when I first listened to BTS I was drawn in by suga’s rap style and flow and stayed for the rest of the rap line and boys because there music was really good and catchy. ‘UGH!’ And ‘Outro: Tear’ are prob my favorite of the BTS rap line and solo ‘Augst D’ and ‘The Last’.

Suga (Agust D) goes hard but also very deep. His lyrics are intentional & raw. He expresses himself through music and not off stage. A lot of his tracks describe the struggle he's dealt within himself (his ego & incredible fame vs the artist who grew up poor and with mental health issues). But it also addresses the hate he (& RM) face, especially from the underground rap scene who thought they were sell outs and refused to acknowledge their hard work & skill. (Listen to RM "Joke" for his take on haters.) Glad you're checking it out. K artists have amazing Rap and R&B along with the "pop" artists. Quality production (choreo, fashion, and performance too). May not be everyone's taste but I believe everyone can find something to appreciate.

*Suga korean is too strong, most of the wordplay and references are not properly translated in english. That is such a bummer. You are not ready for suga shadow full lyrics and mv. Suga basically has two personalities, he is softer when he is suga but he gets edgy, dark and real when he is Agustd. For example his Agustd the last lyric is a raw and intense song.*

SUGA aka AGUST D is a total beast....I would like to address your comments, tho....I understand the negative feedback you're getting about BTS. Believe me, this entire fandom knows all about it and the "reasons" people say it. But, why? If you can look past that to listen to their music - not just the English songs, but all of it - you will find 7 unbelievably talented men who are, in addition, some of the best people on this planet. There are 2 other rappers - you could start there. The 4 vocalists are absolutely world class. The lyrics are fantastic. The production is amazing. The choreography is out of this world. You would be cheating yourself out of something so lovely in this world if you don't try it.

AgustD is simply very interesting artist. So his music also is very interesting, diverse and emotion driven. He can build whole songs around a sound or meaning of that sound how he did with this song. He took centuries old military music that everyone knows is played when King is arriving and blended it to perfection with western genre of music and used meaning of that traditional music to build whole song narrative where no matter what he is rapping about or what is happening in the video the beat and the music throughout the whole song is announcing that king is arriving and he is that modern time equivalent of the King. It is interesting how he doesn't look how he sounds. He looks younger than he actually is, he is young at age of 29, but he is making music, and beats for 16 years already. So he can be really sophisticated in his disses and narratives. And yes sometimes they are way to clever to get it if you lack in education, cause boy he loves his references. In this song alone he mentions historical events and personalities to further his own life narrative. His music is diverse, cause he is more exploring producer in general, than just producing rapper. What really draws me in, is his never changing honesty and ability keep his feet in reality realm while telling personal stories made into musical narratives. He doesn't exaggerate his backstory and struggles to give him some street credit, just keeps it raw raps about not only events that took place but also about how it made him feel, cause feelings is what makes us relate. He is really intelligent and uses metaphors that cuts deep. He likes to swagger about his success and send his hatters middle finger and that is awesome and aspiring lol AgustD or Suga of BTS just loves music. He has passion and ability for rap, but that is not only genre he is interested in. So when he produces for other artists and gives them his songs to build their own upon you can see how wide his range of music taste actually is. All kinds of music. On the interview few years back he told that in the far future he wants to try his hand in acoustic music, so he is learning to play instruments to achieve this. Even now when he is at the top of the world and having BTS and his own never ending schedules, he is learning how to play guitar diligently and also taking vocal lessons. Talk about being overachiever.

This is my favorite 💜 It's what opened this 73 year old white lady's ears to hear rap in all it's profoundness. I will never like "gansta rap" - probably cuz I can't relate to it - but I've learned to appreciate what rap brings to the music scene. RM (earlier known as Rap Monster) has some good stuff out there like "Joke" and "Do You". I prefer his softer side like "Forever Rain". Suga tends to feel harsh to my ear (aside from Daechwita) but rap lovers seem to like his solo works like "agust d" (That name comes from Daegu Town - where he grew up - and SUGA spelled backwards - thus Agust D.

@@coolypetzz Understood. One of the things I enjoy about BTS is that each member brings a different flavor, especially in their solo songs. Lie, Epiphany, Euphoria, Singularity, Outro: Tear, Ugh. 💜 Each rapper has a unique sound just as each vocalist has their own unique sound. And yet they blend so well together.

@@coolypetzz have you checked out RM'S new songs? Like "still life"? Or his older songs like "do you" or "joke" or his callab song called "bukku bukku"? I tend to enjoy all of the rap line because I always seen it like: RM analysis the world SUGA criticizes the world JHOPE visualizes the world Although everyone has their own tastes 🤷🏾♀️ I know not everyone feels the same about music but I don't have a genre that I dislike. I kinda grew up appreciating all genres and in all honesty that's all I hope people have towards BTS if they're not into them. I've always felt that it's fine to not like a music genre or artists or songs as long as there is some form of respect for the artist and the hard work they put in and their musicality 🤗 which is why people like us can can talk about artists without having problems because we have appreciation for artists we're not really into as well 😊

Yea, I grew up listening to 80's and 90s hip hop and RAP( which stands for "Rhythm and Poetry") that's what hip hop was technically supposed to be. When it first came out it was either funny stories, fun lyrics with a funky beat or emotional/struggle stories. You don't have to but you could check out songs like - Tupac -"keep ya head up" - Tupac "dear mama" -tupac "Brenda got a baby" (WARNING:sad) -tupac "changes" -joyner Lucas "frozen" (WARNING:Sad and emotional) - salt and pepper "shoop" -TLC "WATERFALLS" -TLC "no scrubs" -nick cannon- "can I live" -Skee-lo "I wish" -Will Smith "parents don't understand" -rob base & DJ ez rock "it takes two" -digital underground " the humpty dance" -Run DMC "ITS TRICKY" -montell Jordan "this is how we do it" -T.I. "get back up" -WILL SMITH "get jiggy with it" -THE CUPID SHUFFLE -WOBBLE I get how you don't relate to "gangster rap" but it's just one aspect of rap and hip hop. There's goofy/rap, there's inspirational rap and storytelling rap, as well as rap that is basically bragging about themselves which is done alot. And so much more. BUT I get how you can love the BTS rap line and still not be into rap outside of that lol because BTS and the rap line are something special 🤷🏾♀️🤗
@virginia_the_elder Жыл бұрын
@@flovonnejohnson707 Thank you for the history of RAP. Until BTS I ignored all RAP, never gave it a chance, because “gangsta rap” got such negative attention. BTS did a dance to “It’s Tricky”. RM collaborated with Wale “Change” Tom MacDonald can be bitingly honest so I tend to like his stuff. I just started following a couple of English rappers (because they showed up on videos with KZbinr “Korean Englishman”) Guvna B and his good friend, Barney Artist. I wish I could copy paste your list but I’ve heard of most of these artists so there’s a good chance I’ll run into their music. 💜
