Suga actually told us that he wrote this song made the beats and even decided on a storyline right after the release of Daechwita like 2-3 years ago. He made this Agust D mixtapes into a trilogy and i must say this was amazing.. He is a literal genius, He also said that during the first scene of the music video there were 6 people behind him cause he said that there had to be 7 people in the video, no matter what its always 7 Also this entire music video had an amazing storyline, how he tricked the detective yoongi, also his acting was so good that he even got a opportunity to act in a kdrama i guess he got a script but he declined that offer cuz he thought he isn't a good actor !! But his acting is just amazing!! Also i would love if you would also react to his second mv "AMYGDALA" That mv is based on yoongi's past struggles and his life pre debut. His traumas and its really sad mv but also it shows how brave he is. (ok came back to edit something cuz i forgot to write lol) Agust D was a different persona created by yoongi as he said that he goes by SUGA when he is working as a rapper for BTS, he goes by prod. by suga when he does producing for other artist ( external projects ), while AGUSTD was made so yoongi can show his true self and raw lyrics to the fans that this is my true self. This may be his last project as AGUST D and we won't see more projects by the name AGUSTD because he said that Anger was what made him write those heavy diss track songs, because in the past they were getting a lot of hate and he had a dream of being successful, famous so he had anger towards the haters which made him write those songs but now he is no more angry, he has forgiven all those people who did bad to them and he doesn't feel angry anymore. He is at peace now and that's why you will see that in his album majority of the songs are easy to listen and are much on a softer side except 3-4 songs. So yoongi said that this might be the last time we see an album by AGUSTD and we can expect an album by SUGA now Nevertheless i just love watching your reactions!! You all are so amazing and i love you all so much hehe

You have to watch the music video for his song “Amygdala” another masterpiece from this album. Suga stated in his interview that the MVs for “Daechwita,” “Haegeum” and “Amygdala” should be watched in order. You’ll find out why when you watch “Amygdala.” Amygdala is part of the brain that processes and controls fears and traumatic events. Also hope you could react to his whole album, there’s no skip all of the tracks are so good. Yoongi’s favorite track in the album is “Snooze” followed by “Amygdala.”

SUGA - his stage name in BTS Prod by SUGA - when he produces for other artists AGUST D - the name he uses when he releases his own music (solo projects) He has said, however, that he may not use Agust D moving forward. This album (D-DAY) is hte last of the "D" trilogy. He originally used Agust D because he had dark emotions to "get out" in his own music, and he felt it should be separated from his music with BTS. Can't wait to see you react to the rest of this album, and specifically to the Amygdala MV. Also, I personally can't imagine watching one of your videos and NOT immediately subscribing. Thank you for reacting to Haegum. Haegum is a traditional Korean instrument as well as AgustD’s freedom from restrictions. I love how he used the word interchangeably in the song. When talking about freedom from restrictions, he doesn’t mean it as an uncontrolled way of abusing what is wrong. Perhaps, more like a call out to unreasonable restrictions put on idols by us the fans. Idols have to be purer than white for certain fans. Yoongi’s album is a gem. I believe you will like Snooze, his song written to encourage aspiring musicians. It is my favourite in his D-Day album. I love how this is not only a continuation of "Daechwita", given that "Haegeum" is also a traditional Korean string instrument. But there are so many parallels between the two. During the premiere, I didn't have the captions on because I wanted to just vibe to it. By the end, Agust D started to embody the Joker. Then I rewatched it immediately and I grasped the whole thing. Agust D portrays what we believe to be the good and bad guys. But he's the guy between the criminals and the capitalist (same people). He takes on the role of Commissioner (Gordon, lol) he portrays what we think is the good guy because he's "protecting" the city. But in reality, which side is truly good? Like Joker in Batman, we assume he is bad. But he mostly misunderstood because he wants to change but goes about it his way. The bad guy in "Haegeum" is power and money. Both sides are fighting over control. To get rid of the war between lower criminals and higher-ranking criminals, Agust D destroys the one thing both are fighting over...money. It isn't his desire to be rich or have power, he trying to humanize each side so their focus isn't capitalism. It also feels like he's fighting between old and new Yoongi again. I had a passion, I worked hard to further it. But when I needed money that passion became my bread and butter. Now that I am where I am the money doesn't mean much anymore. This is just my thinking. By the way, D-Day is phenomenal!!! 😁💜

As explained by Yoongi himself during his interview with RM, Agust D is a persona he made to be free on saying and writing whatever topic that he wanted to write. Being an idol has too many restrictions in writing. As a producer and songwriter, he is known for being raw and honest about his work. He said that whenever he is Agust D, he is much more free than being SUGA because he write about almost everything including his own life struggles and traumas. Agust D is also a persona of him in pain and anger. He also mentioned that along side writing diss tracks, it's because he wanted to show to the haters of who is and what he is capable of (this is not his exact words but that's how I understood it.) But, he also said that as he grow older he is getting less angry and starting not to care to what people will say about him or his group. That's why when D-Day was produced he said that this is gonna be his last part of being Agust D and it will take more time for him to bring it back because he already wrote about every little thing about him and his life and he doesn't have any story to tell anymore and he is already at peace. In connection in his personas in Haegeum, ARMYS believed that the non-scar agust d is already min yoongi himself. he k**led the scar-faced policed agust d as a metaphor of him letting go of that persona.

@gloss39 Жыл бұрын
In the lines "slaves to capitalism, slaves to money; slaves to hatred, prejudice and revulsion; slaves to YT, slaves to flexing ..." I think he's actually calling out everyone including himself. Cause in this day and age especially him being in an industry which somehow makes him adhere to the very things he hate, everyone is basically conforming to capitalism and social media. And this is actually represented by the chopsticks. He used them both as a weapon and as a tool to feed himself. He hated being slaves to all those things and that's what he's trying to "kill" in the first minute of the mv but in the end, he has to use the same tool to appease his hunger.

I’m thinking the chopsticks are a metaphor for his music: is his bread wining thing, but can also be a weapon. Suga’s duality is insane, he is so cute and nurturing but also a savage. 😬

Yoongi talked about this song in the Disney documentary, in which he talks a little about the part of the idols and as the least thing they do, no matter how young they seem, they jump to the jugular to attack and judge them without stopping. Haegeum is an instrument but it also became: "Lift the bans". Now if we talk about the theme of the song I think it serves as the basis for the next song which is HUH?! with J-hope who talks a lot about those types of people who seek to criticize in some way, even things that would be normal for a 30-year-old

Thanks for the reaction guys! I missed the Weverse live where Suga walked through the process of the MV so I’m just talking of my own interpretation here. Daechwita should be viewed as the first part of the trilogy story, followed by Haegeum and ending with Amygdala. In Daechwita the blonde king was representing his Anger. Suga explained that he killed the Anger by the end of the video, as evidenced by the rebel getting the gun and shooting him. In this video, however, the rebel Suga has grown into someone overtaken by greed. At least that’s what I see as the theme in the MV. The detective seems dapper on the outside but the storyline shows you he’s obsessed with money and that’s exactly what the new Agust D (the one without the scar) is fighting. Specifically you can see the scar is healing, which means Suga is getting closer to overcoming his “vices”. But in this video he’s still fighting his greed, which incidentally ties nicely with the overall message of the song itself which is all about how the current era we live in with unlimited information is making us want for more and want for the wrong things (ie the self indulgence). Agust D without the scar steals the money and burns it to mess with the scarred Agust D (aka the greed) and eventually kills him but he acknowledges at the end that even though he is aware and fighting this greed, he’s still part of the same system he’s trying to fight (as represented by him eating with the same chopsticks he ketchup bottled someone in the beginning). I also love that someone observed that in the last scene although he does not have a scar his hair falls in a way that looks like the scar, implying again the question: can we truly break free from the system were schackled to and the vices they bring? Anywho, that’s my unstructured view of it! There’s a ton of parallels to famous movies like Scarface and the Dark Knight too which again serve as the undercurrent for the message of capitalism and it’s tendencies to manipulate us all. I think it’s expertly done! Amygdala dives deeper into how the scars were created, it’s a lot more introspective in that regard , but also a great watch and fantastic song!

The line about the difference between freedom from self indulgence was in a scene where he was smoking. This is a clap back to the system and to some fans bec idols in SK are banned from smoking even if this is acceptable with ordinary citizens. When some of his BTS brothers were thought to have been seen smoking by some fans, they were castigated online and then Suga shows this in his MV.. daechwita, haegeum and amygdala are a trilogy, he created agust d as an alter ego to deal with his pain and anger over his past, the way the industry treated him, his hardships with his motorcycle accident and other personal things. there are two sugas in daechwita and in haegeum, one is abusing their power (a king, a crooked detective) and one is rising up to challenge them, the alter ego born of anger and a need to survive became destructive to himself. so there is a cycle in these 3 mvs where he is killing his out of control power hungry/destructive self, but the implication is that he will still always be tempted to become that greedy/angry version with haegeum repeating a similar cycle as daechwita. i think with him having the detective jacket and picking back up the chopsticks and the way the scar version of him laughed when he was about to kill him (almost like he knows history will repeat), it's like a cycle of becoming destructive again and having to continuously stop that side of himself from taking over. It's amazing because it's an in-universe fiction story obviously but it's also drawn from how he feels about his mental health and his real life self and who he wants to be...amygdala draws it all together (be careful watching this as it's really intense and brings his real life into the story). he has said these three agust d albums are like a trilogy to him navigating his anger, trauma and healing.

Agust D is a persona Yoongi created to be able to talk openly about his trauma, his anger, his past struggles. He explained that as he has matured he has learned to be less angry about things that happened to him in the past and he wants to focus on the present. Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala are a visual representation of that journey. The scar is there for a reason, it represents his pain. He is constantly trying to get past that pain by killing scarred Agust D. Amygdala mv ties it all together. In case you decide to react to it please take into consideration that there are a couple of trigger warnings/disclaimers at the beginning of the video since it deals with very sensitive topics.

AgustD is to Slim Shady as Suga is to Eminem and as Min Yoongi is to Marshall Bruce Mathers III 💜 if you flip the letters of AgustD you will get Dtsuga = Dt (Daegu Town - the name of the underground hip hop group he was part of before BTS, names after his hometown of Daegu) then SUGA (his BTS stage name). 💜he uses “AgustD” pronounced like the month followed by saying the letter D, for his solo mixtape/album releases....he said this persona let’s him be more raw and direct.... he uses “SUGA” when performing as the BTS member persona.... ☮ He has said this is the last of the AgustD trilogy. Suga has three personas as of now, the long blond haired one in Daechwita is his young angry persona who is angry at the world, the scarred one (who gets killed in Haegeum) is the materialistic Yoongi who just wants wordly pleasure and third one the real Yoongi is the more calm one, he doesn't have his young self's anger nor his scarred self's materialistic greed he just wants to be an artist, now that his greed and anger is dead he will be free to express himself more, Suga's artistry never fails to amaze me, what a brilliant artist and person💜

The blood haired one is the same as the cop in haegeum, you can see the same scar, but in haegeum it's more faded. The first one is in amygdala, when he got the scar, then you can see the scar still a bjt fresh in the bllonde king and a bit more faded in haegeum.

lemme try and explain as best as i can: the first King in Daechwita has a very fresh scar on his face and is killed by a Agust D with healed scar and the one with the healed scar then becomes the "Boss"(reference to "Im a king I'm a boss" lyric in Daechwita?) in Haegeum and is defeated by a Suga that doesn't have any scar on his face. It could be that with each death he lets go of more of his pain(each persona gets more and more happier if you notice. Yoongi even mentioned how Agust D might not return because it was a persona that was born out of anger and as he grows older he found that he's let go of his anger. This song is also criticizing the corrupt system and capitalist society. He kills the man with chopsticks and ends up eating with the SAME chopsticks at the end which is symbolism for him struggling in the corrupt system and capitalism and ending up having to participate in it himself so in a sense he's calling out himself. This is also shown in the way how each time a Agust D gets into a position of power he gets killed by a new more down-to-earthMin Yoongi; mad King defeated by the healed scar Yoongi who gets corrupted and becomes boss in Haegeum who is then killed by a no-scar Yoongi. Every time he gets drunk on power he brings himself down back to Earth(he speaks of this in his song SHADOW as well). TRAITORS: if you look closely at around 1:01 of the gangster Yoongi nods at a guy who's speaking to Boss Agust D on the phone and informing him about the situation. Towards the end of the music video it is the same guy who is plunging gangster Yoongi into water where he finds the gun - the guy betrays Boss Yoongi. The same thing happened in Daechwita where the butcher in the beginning who is also the executioner in the end conspires with healed scar Yooni(who is Boss Yoongi in Haegeum) to kill the mad King. FISH BOWL: in a behind the scenes he alluded that this scene also has a hidden meaning. From what we know its a metaphor to the idol life where its like they're living in a fish bowl without any freedom or privacy and people are constantly watching his every move. He seems so amused by it in the scene. SMOKING: he said that he deliberately added the smoking scene because he knew he'd be criticised for it. He said "he thing about idols is that we don’t have to commit a crime or do something controversial for people to blow little things out of proportion and and judge us. (…) Like when an idol smokes on a MV, say I get criticized for that at 31" pretty sure there is a lot of other things I've missed.

14:27 the reason why his alter ego died was because the men were actually working for suga instead of him, this was all planned to take his alter ego out.

oh also one little tidbit, the red chopsticks are so symbolic too. in the beginning he used them to kill his enemy (whatever oppresses you in real life), then in the end he goes back to the same lil noodle shop and uses the chopsticks to eat (for nourishment, one that sustains and gives you life). it goes full circle. its so genius!

editor xen really represents my feelings and thoughts. hahahahaha cinematic mv, profound lyrics, fire music, and actor yoongi once again proving he's even beyond music! man of talents! the red chopsticks -- the one he uses as a weapon and also the one he uses to nourish himself -- his music. the cop is also the mob boss (corrupt). ;) for me it means even if you're the one with authority and should be resposible for keeping things "right," you can also be swayed by over-indulgence or abuse of that power. but... he, like the king in daechwita, willingly takes the gun shot. why? cos his shadow (the darker side of himself) is always going be to be ended by yoongi. yoongi is in control of himself despite the internal conflicts from time to time.

You need to watch in order. Yoongi says daechiwita, haegeum, and amygdala are all connected. It's his life.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Good spotting that there is 6 gang members with Suga. o.0 Suga always has BTS represented in his MVs. He so sweet. Jimin ult bias, Suga wrecker, OT7. He looks so hot. Love the souvenir jacket his wearing. I have one too but mine is black and has cranes on it. I love dragons though and my fav color is blue & black. I kind of thought we would not have a song like Daechwita on this album. Well guess i was wrong, huh. 0.0 I was really surprised on 1st watch. I never thought he would connect 3 MVs together. 0.0 That is brilliant. Suga is such a genius. I love it. Suga during the premier said to listen to Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. So that's what i am going to do. Powerful song. I like that we continue the story from Daechwita. But this song is more violent. Geez. He is such a savage! I liked it. Good rhythm. Suga is a visual. Excited to rewatch the MVs in order like he suggested. Did u spot the Joker reference i missed that. Ur reaction was many of us. He is such a boss! Here's a list of solo projects. If things are missing u can check genius site until doolset updates her's. doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com/solo-projects/ Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army 💟 Borahae ARMY *KEZ* said on 4/21/23 So Haegeum means allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden. His whole album is overflowing with his emotions, and not only does he talk to himself in his album, he talks directly to the listener (especially with one particular song, where it almost feels like he breaks the 'fourth wall'. I've experienced it via a movie before, but never by song, until now) there are ARMY translator accounts on Twitter, so if you want to listen to his album on Spotify or Apple music etc, you can have the lyrics pulled up to help you understand what he is expressing 💜 ScreamCheeese said on 4/21/23 Haegeum also means “to liberate” or “to release” from bans, restraints, or something forbidden. You also really need to see Daechwita!! You’ll understand a lot more of this MV and it’s just as amazing! Just a movie-like. Min Yoongi is a genius for a reason 😩 Plants healing said on 4/21/23 Haegeum has two meanings. The first is a traditional Korean stringed instrument used in this music "this song's a haegeum", and the second, as the lyrics say, "a new kind of haegeum" means "unlock". Yoongi uses both haegeum in his lyrics. Addison McDorman said on 4/22/23 Haegeum: the English lyrics & the meaning. Haegeum is a song about unlocking our new potentials, freeing something previously forbidden. The word “Haegeum” has a double meaning. On one side, it’s a traditional Korean string instrument that has a very peculiar sound, but this is not the authentic meaning Agust D/Suga intended originally. Haegeum” means “allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden.” Here is how he explained it in an interview: The word “Haegeum” came to me when I was young. I played rhythm games, I loved rhythm action games. When beating a certain stage, you’d unlock a forbidden song, then you could play a new rhythm. It was a “freedom from the forbidden.” Why don’t I try and break free from those things? This is explicitly confirmed by the English translation of the lyrics in Haegeum: This song’s simply about freeing what’s forbidden but you must remember to differentiate freedom from self-indulgence This song’s a haegeum Get on board now This lively rhythm A new kind of haegeum Marissa McWhiter said on 4/22/23 The second meaning of haegeum is the lifting of the ban of something forbidden. Adding what I think the story is based on things I’ve heard from other reactors...commentaries and what he said in the d-day documentary. First of all he did say in his intro of the video during the premiere that this video is the second of a trilogy. He said the three videos meant to be seen together is Daechwita, haegeum and amygdala ...which is coming up! So I believe the king in Daechwita, the first form of august D, was killed by black haired scar face agust D. But then black hair becomes the boss in Haegeum. He seems to be a police detective or officer that is corrupt. He runs his operation from above the Asian noodle restaurant. New Agust d wants to kill him too! Maybe like in Daechwita it’s because of his corruption. So he invades the headquarters and gets his money. On his way out we see a guy making a phone call to the boss...but new agust d gives him a nod. So I think just like in Daechwita new agust d has a deal with this insider to help him kill the boss. So this new guy didn’t really want the money it was just a bait to get him close to the boss. So like in Daechwita, as he was about to be killed he switches the story and kills the Boss instead. Before the boss gets shot we see the boss smirk. I saw a comment that this could be because he knows that this New guy will also meet his fate! So in the end new guy was accepted by the boss’ men and he was delivered to their headquarters the restaurant where he takes over. The final Shot of him eating with the tool he used to kill a man suggests that the violence will sustain him. So now we will wait for amygdala to see how the story ends! So the song itself was explained by Suga in the documentary. He explains that as idols there are a lot of things they seem to be restricted from doing, acts that are normal for some will become controversies for idols. Like if his smoking at the age of 31 will be seen as wrong then he wants this song to be the start of liberating or lifting some of the restrictions put on them. He also talked about the effect on too much information and how easy to get them also starts to restrict thinking. It’s a very deep song! The funny thing is...this song has triggered a bit of hate from kpop on social media! Fans of other groups are thinking Yoongi was targeting them...or even saying he shouldn’t be against capitalism since he is from Hybe! Lol totally missing the point of the song...or maybe just proving Yoongi’s observations! He’s a genius! The rest of the album is genius! I hope you do an album reaction! Mic mic bungee said on 4/22/23 what's amazing is that in the MV, hanja 解禁 was on the screen which = haegeum, in terms of "to lift a ban" not 奚琴 = haegeum the instrument. WHICH MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE because the lyrics talk a lot about judgement, prejudice, and being free from all that. something about it is so raw, and honestly, i feel like it's a big fu to those who try to "cancel" grown idols for doing something normal humans do, like him "smoking" in the MV or just dating, or any issues some fans can't accept. "This song is a haegeum" meaning this song is targeting kpop "fans" who always make a big deal out of things that are not even supposed to be controversial HE'S SO ICONIC FOR THIS. Steve Blevins said on 4/25/23 Please note the split-second image of a hand holding almonds at 13:36. This is a reference to ALMOND: A NOVEL about a guy who has trouble identifying and describing experienced emotions because of a neuropsychological condition (alexithymia). The "almond" refers to the amygdala, an almond-shaped area of the brain. Yoongi was seen reading this book in a preview to IN THE SOOP. The book is on Namjoon's recommended list.

If you gonna watch agust d - Amygdala mv, its all about suga's trauma, anxiety, depression, suicide and the car accident that happned when he was trainee. In 2012 suga was trainee before bts debut, he work as Delivery boy and accidently hit by a car and cause his shoulder injury, suga did'nt said to bighit it because he was scared that agency gonna kick him and did'nt gonna debut. But bighit said if suga said it early they gonna help suga, but suga just scared to tell them. In 2020 suga had his shoulder surgery. In the day of bts concert, suga's depression and anxiety just attack again and because of it suga can't perform in stage, so bighit don't have choose so they cancel the concert
