I’m a Licensed Floral Designer & love decorating cakes. These are BEAUTIFUL!! You captured the frilliness of the carnation. I have to confess I like them better without the dusting.

Stunning. Thank you so much. The tips of using the edge of the foam pad to frill the flowers and using cornstarch to soften the colours are brilliant. I can't wait to try them. Thanks again 😊

I have to admit I am not a Carnations fan at all. Whenever someone gives me them I feel like I’ve aged about 10-20 years, haha! 😂 But I definitely wouldn’t mind trying your recipe! 🙂 They turned out so beautiful thank you so much for sharing! 💜 I would love to see your take on a Pom Pom Dahlia and a Cafe Au Lait Dahlia. 🙂

I'm needing to make rose gold carnations, what colors would I use for the gum paste and what dusting colors would I need? also, the bride is wanting one tier of the cake a painted rose gold color, what do you recommend? Thank you in advance!!!
@FinespunCakes2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jan, a caramel colour and a pink should give you something close to rose gold. Then you just need rose gold lustre dust or paint, whatever you can get your hands on!

Hi Alexandria. First of all.....the carnations were so beautiful! I have a question about using the ball tool on the petals. It seems like after using the veining tool to add all that texture, that the ball tool actually smooths out some of the the texture that was just created. Maybe it’s just how it’s looking on camera? I’m also wondering if you could suggest which Americolor gel colors I could use to achieve these colors. There won’t be time to order the Sugarflair colors and receive them in time for my order, but I’d love to try these on my cake. Thanks so much! Loving your videos!

Hi..how should I store the flowers, I guess I have to make them way ahead than the day I make the cake, please suggest
@FinespunCakes4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I make mine ahead of time (they last indefinitely if stored dry). I pack mine in a cake box or plastic box with foam padding underneath so they don't move around. If you're in a humid area you can put silica gel packets in with the flowers so they stay nice and dry.
