The way Leonard maneuvered him into walking into that left hook was picture perfect. At that point, the fight was effectively over.

Ref should have stopped it when Donny went down the first time , he was out on his feet already . He should not been allowed to continue . Ray Leonard was a wolf when he smelled blood and a brutal finisher . That was brutal .

You're right, but Steele made sure the fight went down as him stopping it resulting in a TKO, just in case there was lasting damage to Lalonde. It should've been a KO, there was know way he was getting up, and Steele should've taken the heat for not stopping it the first time he went down.

I agree, the commentators knew it wasn't a knock down as well but they were hoping he could beat Ray Leonard because he has All the advantages, height weight, and strength, he was lacking the most important component experience .his boxing skills were weak too

Agree with you partly. It was timing: Ray was off balance and Donny got him on the top of the head at the same time. I don't think Ray was hurt by it.

I think it was more the left that hurt him, he kind of ducked into it increasing its force.
