I’m so absolutely thrilled that you have this doll 🎉🎉🎉 I’m definitely going to get him and modify him one day 😁😁😁 I just don’t like the face sculpt that they have used for this one. While he is very handsome, it’s basically just the movie Ken with a tan😒😒😒 Like you, I also wanted it to come out with the original concept design face that had so much character, charisma, and sophistication 🤩🤩🤩 And while I don’t collect any silk stones either, I’m currently on the hunt for the original face sculpt or something similar. Wish me luck 🤞🏽🫤🫤🫤

Oooh good luck, Ms. D! I hope you find the perfect 1958 sculpt for you.🙏🏽 I don’t have that sculpt yet as well and I’m contemplating if I need that for my collection. But yeah I don’t think I can afford any BFMC Silkstones unless I sell a kidney or two LOL! I totally agree, I feel like they should have used a different face for this doll. I feel like there’s a lot of old and existing sculpts that could have been a better fit for this character. The 1996 Ken face comes to mind (they used that for Happy Family Grandpa). And of course the Silkstone Ken face is right THERE, I just don’t understand why they couldn’t use that face ‘cause that was the original face of the cancelled doll anyway. Silly Mattel!😅

@@asherbarbara9 Silkstone dolls will never be in my budget in the near future unless a miracle happens 😁😁😁 but like you said, Mattel literally had the chance to do it right, and dropped the ball 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ Oh well, it is what it is 😁😁😁

He's adorable, so glad you were able to get him. I bought this through Walmart for two reasons.. I redressed my Silkstone 'Roger Sterling' in this outfit, which makes Roger look like a "Suger Daddy!" lol The second reason, this Ken reminds me of my mom's brother (my uncle Chris)...My mother's family had a television show back in the 1960's and had several Television Specials (I made a huge "King Family Show" diarama) I really love your reviews! Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed the review!😊 That’s so cool that you redressed your Roger Sterling Ken into Sugar Daddy! That sounds awesome, I can only imagine how good he looks. I wish I had the Mad Men dolls, they were so gorgeous.😆 Sadly, I was a broke college student when they were released so I missed my chance.🥲 To answer your question, I honestly don’t know how many dolls I have in my collection…and maybe it’s for the best I don’t know.😅 I have dolls in display, dolls in storage, dolls in case I need to rebody some future dolls, I have dolls back in my parents’ house, plus I have a whole separate collection for my non-Barbie dolls (Ever After High, Monster High, Disney Descendants, etc…). The thought that I have so many dolls is kinda scary, lol.

Omg I hate having to buy from Mattel creations too…. I live in New Zealand and my last purchase took ten weeks, ha you’re so right how they go to Europe first, so weird! I mean if Temu can get my purchases to me in less than a week Mattel needs to get better

Agreed! The shipping carrier they use just do not make sense to me. 2 months waiting for a package is just unacceptable, especially since it’s just sitting somewhere in Europe for no reason.😭
