Wow! I would love to join. Only problem is.... my ancient sewing machine finally died. I’m a disabled single parent so replacing it isn’t possible. Where I live there aren’t really any used ones to buy either. I am 1/3 of the way into quilting a huge quilt for my daughter, which is what I was doing when it broke. I feel so lost without quilting.😞

When you are disabled and on a fixed income, even finding an old used one is next to impossible. I thought of doing it by hand, but my joints won't stand for that. Oh well, there will be another contest someday!

I started quilting on a longarm. Yes, I’m signing on. I’m a quilter but new to ‘modern’ quilting. Is it necessary to do free motion as my old Elna 8600 Embroidery machine won’t cooperate? It still sews well but just not free motion. Don’t even care about embroidery but I’m stuck with it so hopefully this will be ok. You are so refreshing! I love your enthusiasm...you make me smile and I really look forward to your U tube videos. Yay! So happy to have you on board Judy! No it's not necessary to do free motion quilting. For the quilt top you just need a machine that can do straight stitches. After the quilt along I'll do a mini series on quilting the quilt with rulers. But that is optional. You can go and quilt the quilt any way you like when it's done

The paper piecing excites me because I have been avoiding it . Now I can have a step by step teacher. You’re so encouraging. Elizabeth I think it will be nice to learn something new and at least try it. I am going to start with fabrics from my own stash. To take expensive material to learn on kind of scares me. I can imagine the postage is very high for her to ship it. When I send twelve unstuffed bear skins to California to Rare Bears from Ohio it costs me $13.40 . I think it’s nice of her to cut all those packs......how lucky she is to have Bernina ask her to be their ambassador......😀

Carrie M , amazing, but she does do so much quilting. It is a first class machine, best of any make. My sewing friend got the 7 series and it is utterly amazing. The 5 series are just as fabulous! It's like getting a Rolls Royce, instead of a Mini! Where are you? I'm in Scotland UK, and I'm not a fan of solids, so no idea what to use. We will get an idea soon.

Elizabeth McKay I’m in what’s called the Hocking Hills of Ohio U S A.... Supposedly on Oct 6 th...we will find out. I asked just for a few large squares sizes because I’m a artist and I want to paint some of them.....she didn’t tell me..... She’s probably not in control that Bernina told her she has to make it suspenseful....no reveals till they let her.... I’m using my own fabrics some plain and some with small prints.....hope it works...🙏

Aww yess we all need a quilt for our self! That's correct. On the 28th of November I'll release the first row of the quilt. And then every four weeks a new row pattern will be released. So you will have 4 weeks to make a row. You can do it! 💪😃

Good question! Next week I'll share more on the tools I used in this quilt along on the bernina blog. But ruler wise, I used a 6 x 12 inch and 6 x 24 inch and an add-a-quarter ruler

I'm going to do my best because sewing really isn't quite my things as I'm all thumbs. But I really would like to give it a go. My mother grew up sewing and she is an excellent sewer having made my clothes and my daughter's. Mum learned in Athens in Attika and I just wish I could a tenth of what she can do. I love the Bernina sewing machine the bobbins being big is useful for my dyspraxia, but I don't have a Bernina machine. I'm hoping to I hope soon, with any luck budget wise.

Where can I discover the amount of each fabric color (plus the background fabric) in the prepared fabric bundles so I will be able to gather proper amounts of each color and be ready to Rock and Roll with you in November? 👏🥰😂👏
