Lemon Poppy Seed Cookies Full of Fresh Citrus Flavor

I love real lemon flavour! Tip #1 for zesting - if you run the zester upside down on TOP of the lemon so the underside of the zester collects all the zest, you can also easily see where you’ve zested the lemon and avoid the pith Tip #2 for zesting - crumble zest & sugar together first, let sit for up to 10 min and let the oils in the zest permeate the sugar for a nice, full flavour……then cream with butter as usual 😊

And #2 you can pulse in food processor the sugar and zest together to release the oils into the sugar

I used to work in a bakery and one of the cookies we made was a lemon, blueberry, white chocolate chip cookie. The cookie batter had lemon zest and juice and half cream cheese half butter in it. Dried blueberries and white chocolate chips, it was the best cookie ever.

Its always fun to have a non chocolate or peanut butter dessert recipe. Don't get me wrong I love all your chocolate and peanut butter recipes, but sometimes it is fun to have something that is fresher and lighter and strange as it may seem, there actually are people who don't care for chocolate or peanut butter. I am vacationing right now so will not try for a bit, but for sure it will be made for my next meeting at church.

I made these today! I thought I had poppy seeds, but I didn’t so I put flax seeds in. You can’t even tell the difference! Lemon is my favorite! Not too sweet, just right! ❤ I’m gonna try this recipe again but with lavender.

Only just found your channel. Anything citrusy is fab, coming into Spring here in Australia moist lemon cake is the best but have orange trees so can substitute orange for these cookies also? Loving all this so far just made your sugared Wlanuts and they are wonderful. Thankyou very much!

I just made these for my church meeting. They were popular. I think that lime would also be nice, I was also thinking about orange. I was thinking with those that you would need more juice. Do you think that is right? Then though it would need more flour probably. Any thoughts?
