Hi, Do these cookies ship well? Would the lace “melt” diring shipping? Thank you
@sweetopia4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nora, I have never shipped them and I'm guessing they would not ship very well, sorry! If any of the sugar lace hangs a little bit over the edge of the cookie, that would likely break during shipping. They would do better if the sugar lace is completely connected to the royal icing base I think. Then wrap in a cellophane bag and put bubble wrap around each. I do have a post about shipping cookies on my blog. Again though, these might be extra delicate.

¡¡Great tutorial!!, sugarveil is one of the best creations on creative pastry. I have a question, can you explain me please if exist many difference between sugarveil and the "homemade sugarveil" that many people said that is good?. Thanks a lot.

Hi moldes, I'm sorry, I've never tried making "homemade sugarveil". I know SugarVeil is different than royal icing though.

I just used sugarveil mix that came with the lace mat I purchased. I used home-made mixture before. It took at leadt 4 ~ 8 hours to set after baking 10 minutes. Sugarveil mix dries up so quick. Almost right after baking and wiping. The thin lace was breaking apart. The mixture itself is thicker than the home-made one and it was harder to spread it to avoid clouding(?!). It might take some adjusting depending on the mat.
