To be fair Avengers did make it past most of their starting goals. They got up to cloning labs which by that point we'd gotten Maestro, Super Adaptoid, Cosmic Anomalies and the first 5 DLC characters(6 if you count the PS4/5 exclusive Spider-Man content) But ultimately they fell short of reaching what was hinted at near the end of the main campaign such as the Kree Invasion, Captain Marvel's DLC, Ultron (even though he was set up in the Cosmic Event) Ant-Man & Wasp, Wastelands Free Roam and several other important things. Yeah Avengers lasted way longer at least 3 year's but Still a shame they couldn't reach their potential in the end.

If live-service makers wanted to make money then just charge the story DLC not all the cosmetics, that way there's more chances for players to pay and later use those funds for future content. On a side note I wouldn't mind a multiplayer Arkham game, like Origins online, just think about Batman Arkham Predator.

they should of followed in some of the formula of avengers, it still had a side-story player mode then it had live service, the operations had cutscenes and new missions that developed the story further, and atleast incorporated the new characters in them like with War for Wakanda, Suicide Squad just kept throwing characters at players and then a brainiac with no inbetween story beats unless you listen to codex files, they should of have build-up to characters like joker and lawless etc. instead of just beating brainiac and getting ONE cutscene.

If this game came out in 2015, it would’ve been a success. Every live service game post Destiny 1 has tried to cash in on this game model. Rocksteady was too late to the party and they’re hurting for it.

Never should have been made but I'm really happy we got a Suicide squad game period.. 🔥 hopefully there next project gets them back into gamers good grace.. I would enjoy another game with the Arkham batman combat system again tbh..

No company wants to give free content away when it comes to lives service they can charge a good price for content bc it only one hero game every ten year

I strongly disagree respectfully because arkham origins like i commented before was setting up a suicide squad story from the beginning. Yeah, this game didnt needed to be a live service game but still. This couldve been a regular original narrative story driven game from start till finish just like the arkham games, just with online multiplayer coop for fun with friends. The looter shooter aspects i dont have an issue with it. But still. And if rocksteady wanted to do more story content, they couldve done how they did with arkham knight and arkham city.

From what i hear, wb Montreal was in the process of making it until they couldn't get it right so they went back to batman (now being gotham knights). And warner bros offered the suicide squad game to rocksteady after they were developing another game

And for wb montreal on batman, the damian wayne project was never a sequel to arkham knight bc wb montreal making a sequel to arkham knight wouldnt make any sense plus they would needed rocksteady’s permission if to do a sequel to arkham knight, not prequel to arkham trilogy. You see what im saying??

You dance around it a bit and almost say it towards the end but trust me this didn’t set back the industry. This helped the industry move past this genre. Games like this and avengers have to happen in order to move us forward. Tell companies that we don’t like cash grab grindy games designed to milk time and money. The more flops we get the better. This year was horrible with live service, buts gems like astrobot came out and silent hill 2 and elden rings dlc. The more they see us ditch live service the more the industry heals. And while this may set back variety of characters it’s for the best. The reality is we have two trilogies so far that are even remotely decent. Arkham still has knight which is debated with its step brother origins heavily criticized. And Spider-Man has a solid launch point to two mid/decent follow ups that don’t really revolutionize the genre. Guardians is good but has mind numbing gameplay between story sections. God of war, horizon, Spider-Man, and last of us all had live service games planned, but luckily they were canned. Now those weren’t on suicide squad. That was Sonys disaster of concord that forced them to move away from live service and I believe Jim Ryan stepping down as CEO(who heavily pushed live service). But it should be celebrated that devs can get back to telling stories and creating worlds to escape in, rather than farming skins to sell to children. Also calling the squad d and under listers is crazy. Harley is a household name. And the other 3 are low b high c listers, especially since the movies. Otherwise great video, just wanted to explain why this was actually a good thing for the industry. I think the thing that actually set us back was warzone and fortnite with these live service skin stores.

Wb expected suicide squad to be a billion dollar game meaning the arkhamverse to be a billion dollar franchise, due to hogwarts legacy success. Hence that wouldve been dope if the arkhamverse was a billion dollar franchise even if suicide squad was next after batman.

Thr issues with this game are too deep and its just a constant wave of awful decisions that honestly piss me off because this could jave been at least a decent game. Ok, the story is complete crap and its better to skip 90% of the cutscenes.... But the loot is crap. Its oniy 5 types of guns and they are all the same except the rarest ones that have all dumb passive effects, mostly around status effects and active reloads. Zero variety. Its anthem all over again. The only worth while thing in the entire game, is the goddamn movement. Thats it. They cant even get the shootin right cuz its mediocre at best So loot in a looter shooter is garbage.. and the builds are too. Just like in anthem,myet again. There is no build variety and every ability in the game is just passive stats and status effects and WAY too many combo % boosts. Zero variety. No... Idk, boomerang being able to teleport 5 times, no boomerang melee attack bouncing between 3-5 enemies, no harley using the drones for movement as an attack as she swings and then swings/throws the drone at enemies, no explosion where boomerang teleports to becoming an attack as well as movement, no damage to enemies while running through them or leaving a trail of electricity when he speed runs, no jetpack fire explosion while vertical leaping for deadshot, WTF NO FKN AIMBOT ABILITY OR/AND RICOCHET SHOTS BETWEEN ENEMIES WITH DEADSHOT, no skill where you shoot at walls to bounce bullets into enemey heads with his wrist guns, no skill where king shark eats someone, no ability where harley cartwheels around and jumps on enemies to pummel them with the bat, no ability where her 2 hyenas attack enemies or keep them locked in places while dealing bleed damage, no ability where she throws a dynamite stick and then makes a poss while the explosion ans blood tirn into comfetti and fireworks, zero cool things done with her insnaity as she should see things different since she is completely insane, why is the HUD identical for every single character when it should be nnique and different for each of them..?? Like these things i just came up right now. No instead we get crits chance, crits damage, status effects and combo x something= passive boost to damage. Then we have the ABYSMAL missions and mission variety. Again, just like anthem, its all recycled. The open world is DEAD. Gotham knights did a better open world and that was anither bad game. The overall live service part was just awful. Pure pain. Constant grind of the SAME EXACT STUFF that got boring the first 5 hours, for the same fkn stupid loot and guns. Why is there no weird guns? The villains guns look interesting but they shoot the exact same as any ither gun. And the leveling is all weird. There is zero reason to even have rarities and normal guns at this point. Just remove them. The first missions ingit a few legendary guns with unique (lame) effects and i just used those. Whats the fkn point of the normal uncommon and epic guns?! Finally,mthe new dlc characters... WHAT THE FUK. seriously. Its like they dotn want yiu to buy them. The gay jonkler?! WHY?! then asian, lesbian miss freeze? Have fkn killer frost instead. Want "dIVeRSitY"? Add killer frost, enchantress, cheetah and copperhead. Idk, do the dumb movies and have katana. Why turn deadshoot black when you can have bloodsport which is literally just deadshot but with cool sci-fi tech?! He is actually cooler. Add black manta, he is black. The game shouldnhave launched with more than 4 characters honestly. Rick flag and peacemaker should have been there day 1. You can have el diablo for some extra diversity points. No the OG one, the mexican one. Could have done something cool with heatwave and cpt cold being a 2 in 1 character where they swap behween each other and have different abilities with fire and ice knstead of miss asian freeze. Reverse flash would have been AWESOME since he would be eager to kill flash, just weaken him as flash steals his speed force with some Brainiac tech, so he gets caught and forced to work for waller. So ,any characters and they go with... Some black chick thats Deadshot's daughter or something, asian ms freeze, gay jonkler and fkn deathstroke with some weird lazzo that attaches itself to air and a speed force teleport thingy? Uh? Aquaman did the right thing and syteyd underwater with the fishes. Probbaly to avoid Pakistani muslim wonder woman. That...was a weird one. And lex luthor of ALL characters, praises pakistani wonder woman and the amazons because they fixed all their problems (yeah sure... Cuz the amazons are known for being a utopia...) because they don't have men and their "toxic masculinity". Wouldnt be shocked if theres an entry in this game where batman says that he is actually completely useless and shiuld just donate all his momey to BLM or something. This games lore, dialogues and story are just gross.
