At first I didn't know about the good & bad endings. all I know is when I beat the game for the first time.. I became sad & angry when Nanami died. I didn't realize it was my fault. I thought that's just how the story goes 😅

I can’t believe my parents never really gave anything to me on my birthdays as a youth because I maturely never wanted it and rather them pay the mortgage off. Weird how they got my aunt to take me to wonderland (theme park) which had its own challenges( sunniest brightest day into darkest cloudiest rainiest day,right back to beaming SUN and beautiful heat like no other).. I get home and they had the PSONE/PS1 waiting for me with Suikoden and Siphon filter and small TV. Literally my fondest moments in life.

​@DMK666 Suikoden fans have a lot of respect for the classic sprites, and I think remaking them would have ended up being less charming. Also if the sprites were replaced there would literally be nothing left of the original except its plot and music.

Better remaster than square enix remaster. I mean FF VIII remaster just forcing upscaling the background to 16:9 aspect ratio and high resolution and it looks blurry while Konami replace the texture and background

I don't like the Octopath pixel stuff myself. This is much better for sure but the dev SE hired for Romancing Saga games did it best and this looks to be up there as well.

IM GOING TO TRY AND GET IT IF THEY ARE IN STOCK. I SAW IT AT BIG W ONLINE. I WASNT OVERLY FUSSED ON SUIKODEN 1 BUT IT WAS OK. I WOULD GET THE REMASTERED GAME BECAUSE IM CRAZY ABOUT SUIKODEN 2. IT NEVER HURTS TO HAVE A SPARE COPY OF IT, AFTER ALL GAMES ON DISCS DO WEAR OUT OVER TIME.

My favourite game - ever made. It's crazy how the remastered visuals are actually how I remember the original!! I must admit, they did a really good job though. Can't wait for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes!

I feel like this is a great update, the new backgrounds look great and they decided to leave the character sprites alone as far as I can tell. I think it was a good way to do it, still feels true to the originals.

I’m so excited, but, why do the battle maps look so much worse? I’m already struggling with the world map, and now the battles look like a downgrade, all blurry and not as well laid out. Thankfully, the field maps look amazing.

The cutscenes and backgrounds are nicely done overall. The unchanged low res sprites on top doesn't work at all and I dislike the bloom effect.

One thing to say? DAY ONE! I still have the two original game version, there're gold gem of my collection. Franckly I completely loved the new fresh colors and details of the scenery and the perfect texture of the magical effects. In my opinion, it will be a fantastic remaster. My only complains is that they don't apply filter on the 2D sprites...but why not, after all it's the Pixel Art style like Legend Of Mana.

I am a bum. The new graphics frankl;y suck. They remove lots of details and change others for no reason. No more thatch roof. No more pointed sticks. The swords lose their shadow and become flat and unrealistic. And thats just in one screen shot. Each detail small but in totality it adds up. The remake graphics just werent given enough time or direction.

They should make the highest rune obtainable mid-game instead of at or near end of the story. It's lame that you can obtain those runes but no longer useful.

This game aged like wine you'd pay 1 million dollars at auction for. It's so pretty 2 decades later. The first game's HD looks like a huge jump visually. This game already was so pretty that they barely had to touch it up at all. Honestly, other then some improved particle effects, it looks really similar. The original still is one of the best looking games of it's era, and my personal favorite game of all time.

it looks amazing, but I'm going to talk about the obvious that everyone is ignoring and what makes me disappointed. I TRULLY LOST RESPECT FOR KONAMI. As much as I love these franchise, I wouldn't buy it, not because of the game itself, which I consider one of the best jrpg of all times, but because I see very dirty that after all these years of fans practically begging Konami to pay attention to these games, Konami did nothing about it. now, after a group of talented people got together and hyped the community with their hardwork in eiyuden, now this company wants to ride on that hype and milk it on others work and success. it sickens me to see companies like this.

Looks like I'm the only one that thinks the remaster looks like garbage? It's so damn crisp and sharp that it doesn't fit anything at all. It looks more like a really cheaply made RPG Maker dropout, especically if you look at scenes like 0:51 - The horrible shadows, the trees standing out so hard, same applies to the next scene- what were they thinking adding so many sun flares? The character models are the only ones that look decent- they almost look identical though, so I can't even tell if they changed anything. Idk I'm personally very disappointed, this isn't as nice looking as for example Octopath Traveller. Idk mang, might just be me- and my gf- and my friends- and my mom...

IM VERY KEEN ON SUIKODEN 2, I PLAY IT EVERY SO OFTEN BUT AS FOR SUIKODEN 5, I WASNT ALL THAT KEEN ON THAT ONE BECAUSE OF THE DUALS. I DIDNT LIKE THE DUALS IN THAT GAME ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE WAS NO SAVE POINT NEAR BY BEFORE THE DUALS. I NEVER FINISHED SUIKODEN 2 BECAUSE I COULDNT FIND A SAVE POINT NEAR EITHER THE LAST DUAL OR ONE OF THE LAST DUALS. I KEPT LOSING. WELL, I STARTED PLAYING SUIKODEN 22 WHEN I WAS MIDDLE AGED. I'm very hyped about this release since I loved the original PSX games, but tbh in some of these (probably still early) comparisons I think the PSX looks better while in some the remake looks better. Makes me a bit split, but I'm still going to get the remake there's no doubt about that! :D

i havent finished Suikoden II yet, because my memory card corrupted. GOOD NEWS: im pretty early, like i just went out from the first town you visit in the game. BAD NEWS: this suikoden II save file is continued from my Suikoden I complete game save file. and that save file is also gone. EVEN BAD NEWS: my Completionist mindset dont want to play Suikoden II fresh. i have to play Suikoden I again to continue to Suikoden II

I can say the best RPG in terms of advance battle system, overall gameplay and superb story not to mention RPG whom you can change the outcome depending on your response with different endings (same as Dragon Age, The Witcher 3 which is considered best triple A game in a decade now, etc. ) which at the time this game was created it's very unique No RPG game i've played and finished for more than 10+ times but Suikoden only. Suikoden 2 then 5 then 1 the best for me hands down The next RPG i repeatedly play was Final Fantasy 8, 9 and 7 in that order yet Suikoden is still far from it in terms of my own rating. I played lots of RPG's if you're gonna mention me some of the best too like Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire series, Wild Arms series etc. but again like i said Suikoden is different P. S. The cooking contest and getting all 108 stars are one of the things that got me hook into this game with combinations of unite attacks and runes as well, damn so unique at that time

The worst part of this whole Suikoden 2 thing is that we never got the follow up to it that we deserved. The later stages from Suikoden 2 were a manipulation from another country. If i say the true circle rune, i think fans know what i'm talking about. We never went there. We had Suikoden 3 in the Grasslands, but Suikoden 5 was a prequel. Oh and Suiko 4 as well. A way earlier sequel on the islands. I dreamed of seeing Jowy and Riou again in a Harmonia based game finally taking the fight to the great manipulator.

I think in those days, developers was restricted by graphic technology so pretty much all of them compete in story and gameplay. Found big difference in emphasize during PS 1, PS 2 and subsequent generation. Well it's just my opinion *shrugging and turn while smoking and looking at the sunset.
