Suit Up! Black Templars Space Marine costume.

A rather short video showing me getting into my space marine armor.
The suit took about a year of on-off building and is currently my pride and joy. There are still a lot of issues to fix and I am aware of them all.
The purpose of this video is to, well, show how I get into it! I've seen others who made a suit-up video as well, who uses at least twice the amount of time I use.
The person helping me here (my father) has never tried this before, so with an experienced helper I could probably get it down to about 3 minutes.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! I certainly enjoyed making it :)

Look... I know space marine shoulder pads are huge but the t-rex arms look a tad bit too small. But in all seriousness this suit looks amazing and I wish i had one of my own, excellent work!

+Liam Hutchings This is the third time I had ever put it on, and I had a lot of things to fix. I'm currently devising a new plan to make the shoulders sit a lot better so my arms aren't tiny :)

But the arms are a bit too short and the shoulder paddings are a bit too big..but overall Nice Armor!

Thanks! Yes, I am fully aware that there are a lot of errors with the suit. I'll try to fix the T-Rex arms by lifting the chestplate up further (using better padding, the current foam isn't a viable solution). The shoulders should also be raised a few cms as well, giving even more arm movement.

How do you attach your shoes to the spacemarine boots

I need to make a more permanent solution. Currently, I've got my shoes duct taped to a column of foam that I'm standing on. It's not THAT bad, but it's not great either. That column is then fastened to the boots by way of 15cm long screws that go through the bottom of the boot into the foam.

I used parachute clips and a metal angle bracket.. I think that's what it is called. Basically it's an angled piece of metal fastened to the chest with a parachute clip on top that my shoulders just clip on to. The clips are fastened by nylon webbing so they have a lot of movement.

How did you attach backpack to body

I used a rather low-tech approach of glue and screws. It's pretty much never coming off of the chest.

They do, just make sure the foam can handle the extra weight without tearing. That is why I glued it as well as screwed about 10 screws into it.

Why dose every one make the shoulder pads so big it makes Warhammer look like look he can't even get to his helm lol I know Warhammer 40k and the shoulder pads in it are big but not to where they are imbibe to the max xD like when you make it in real life why not make it smaller so it works and looks better

The shoulder pads ARE big in pretty much every iteration of the marine suits. Personally, I do not like the scaled down, more "realistic" suits as they tend to lose a lot of the wow-factor. Now, in the upgraded version I've raised the shoulders a bunch and as such I've gotten a lot more mobility. I can almost put on my helmet unassisted now.

Deuce Duffield I am not allowed to sell it, since it'd be a violation of Games Workshops intellectual property. If I sold this, I could be in some serious trouble. That being said, 1200$ (i assume) would be way too low. Expect twice that in materials should you decide to make it yourself.
