Anyways here's a description of my favorite planes! Airbus A320-214 Description The medium-range jet airliner Airbus A320 entered service in 1988. It is the first model of the A320 family, whose members differ in fuselage length mainly. The shortest family member is the A318, the longest is the A321. The A320 has a maximum take-off weight of 78,000 kg (172,000 lbs) and can carry a maximum of 180 passengers. The A320 was the first commercial airliner that used a digital fly-by-wire control system. The mechanical connection between the flight controls and control surfaces is replaced by a combination of sidesticks, flight control computers and actuators. The cockpit features digital instrument displays for all flight and engine data, analog instruments are provided as a backup only. Airbus A380 "Super Jumbo" Description The Airbus A380 is the largest serially produced aircraft in the world. Since October 2007, it entered service by several airlines, especially on long distance flights. The machine is approved for up to 873 people, most versions provide a maximum of 558 seats in three classes. Like the number of passengers also the maximum takeoff weight of 569 tons and the range of 15,200 km are huge. Each of the four aircraft engines provides a thrust of over 310 kN. Aérospatiale/BAC Concorde Description The Aérospatiale/BAC Concorde is a British-French supersonic passenger airliner for up to 128 passengers which first flew in 1969 and retired in 2003. With a cruise speed of twice the speed of sound (Mach 2.02) she could fly from New York to London in just 3.5 hours and flew as high as 60,000ft. The delta wing of the plane is easy to recognize and optimal for high speed but for takeoff and landing the angle of attack needed to be unusually high which is why the nose of the plane had to be lowered for better visibility. The Concorde was powered by four afterburning RR Olympus 593 turbojet engines which produced up to 169kN of thrust each. High ticket prices and noise concerns were the reason why only 20 aircraft were ever built. Boeing 737 MAX 9 Description The Boeing 737 MAX 9 is a modernized version of the Boeing 737-900ER. Compared to the 737 NG (Next Generation) series, all MAX versions have even more efficient engines and comparatively higher passenger capacity. The 737 MAX 9 has a range of about 6500 km and is certified for up to 220 passengers. This makes it comparable to the Airbus A320neo / A321neo. The maiden flight of the MAX 9 took place on 13 April 2017. Boeing 747-400 Description The first version of the B747 (Jumbo Jet) series flew in 1969. The B747-400 followed in 1988 including numerous improvements among others in terms of range, performance and number of passengers. The new equipped cockpit allowed to reduce the number of pilots from three to two. The maximum takeoff weight is 395 tons, the maximum range is 13400 km. Boeing 777-300ER Description The Boeing 777-300ER (extended range) is one of the largest and heaviest twin-engine commercial aircraft. Impressively large and powerful are also the two GE90-115B engines, each delivering up to 512 kN thrust. In the ‘ER’ version, the Triple Seven can carry nearly 400 passengers up to 13,600 km. It is the first Boeing aircraft to be equipped with a Fly By Wire system. Boeing 787-10 Description The Boeing 787, also known as the Dreamliner, is a modern wide-body aircraft that has been in use by various airlines since 2011. During the development, particular emphasis was placed on better performance data. In addition to improved aerodynamics, new, quieter and more efficient engines were developed for the Dreamliner. To reduce weight, many components were made of composite materials. With a non-stop flight of 19,835 km and a circumnavigation of the earth within 42h 27m, the Dreamliner has set or improved two records in the 200-250 ton weight class.
