toji wasn't in control and was just a murder machine running on instinct as established last episode. So he had a moment of control realizing that Megumi was his son and Gojo had taken him under his wing as he kept the Fushiguro name. He only regained control for a moment as you could see with his pupils being white again. Hence why he killed himself as he didn't want to kill his son. One of the more hard hitting moments of the season for sure.

Naa, read chapter 221 again. After Gojo was unsealed. He came to fight and kill Kenjaku, but once Sukuna interfered, Gojo, who had come to fight, agreed to postpone the fight and admitted that fighting Sukuna now would be painful. Gojo in hindsight was stronger, but at the moment he wasn't confident in beating Sukuna.

Not really sure how you came to the conclusion that 15 finger Sukuna > Gojo, if anything, Gojo dealt with Jogo much easier than Sukuna when they fought back in season 1, and the only other time Gojo fought Jogo he couldn't use his technique because he didn't wanna kill anyone, and he was still destroying him
