Time lag is from Yuji’s Divergent Fist. Remember that Todo taught him that he should release cursed energy simultaneously with the physical hit. Yuji since then can land Divergent Fist (cursed energy time lag) when he chooses to.

1-Mahito get Todo's hand there because he can activate his technique from a afar for anyone in his domain. 2-Mahito's palms is the most dangerous part. 3-Soundtrack you liked at 08:21 is "Mahito's Theme" and was also played in First season too. 4-At 09:53 time lag happen because of Yuji's technique/flaw called "divergent fist" (explained in first season) happens his cursed energy lagging behind speed of his physical speed, creating double impact at target. Sorry for the snob comment, lulz.

They explain in season 1 that hitting a black flash puts you into "the zone" and your flow and control of cursed energy skyrockets. So think of black flash as a sign that whoever does it is peaking or leveling up. Last episode, Yuji, Mahito, and Todo all hit one black flash, and, even though Todo's did no actual damage, they're all at 120% of their potential and power as a result. Mahito was able to use domain expansion for a split second to snipe Todo's hand while not getting killed by Sukuna as a result of him using that first black flash. The second black shows him his true form. Yuji's "power up" from hitting 2 black flashes seems to be basically guaranteeing that he can hit a third one, i.e. something he shouldn't be able to do on command but is his literal only option against Mahito.
