For those who can’t tell what’s going on whenever sukuna is pointing or slashing but nothing happens, that’s mahoraga adapting to dismantle. You can see mahoraga boxing away multiple slices at 1:06, and then the wheel completes its next spin and catches sukuna mid backflip. This scene however makes way more sense if you’ve read the manga so I could see why some people are confused.

seeing this just makes my head implode after i saw the story board of this fight, the whole reason why mahoraga was shadow boxing was because he adapted his fighting style, to throw his limbs towards sukuna as he gets cleaved, so his trying to throw his own limbs, expecting them to be cut. meanwhile sukuna! his hitting him with so many feint attacks, basically cutting everything else BUT him, but then mahoraga locks in and finally adapts, then throw's his own feint attack at sukuna!

You don’t seem to understand that the Pain naruto fought was just a puppet , and 4-6 tailed Naruto is a body of chakra that can create limbs and body parts from itself and move fluidly almost like orochimaru. I think the style of animation perfectly showed that. They weren’t normal humans fighting.

@narutocursemark clashing as in the fluidity and style of the animation didn't compliment the characters' movements or the tone of the fight (i.e it looked too jiggly and whacky for as built up and serious of a fight as this was supposed to be tonally). Why didn't they just go the route of how the fight with Orochimaru vs. 3rd Hokage looked (one the best-looking fights imo)? Art is subjective. If you enjoyed it, it was good for you it may not have been clashing in your eyes. For me it was so jarring I couldn't enjoy a lot of the fight when Pain's face would constantly make the most off quilter looks or the scene with him splitting rocks while Naruto chucks them at him like a fidget spinner is silly to me- the end.
