I think Isagi's monster is more analytical rather than egotistical. Thought it probably still has an ego much like Isagi. Basically he's going to level up through using more of a strategic method of power than trying to brute force or be the spotlight character. His team will be utilized as tools to meet his needs. Either way I don't see him being the kind of character that would just be full bore selfish but I don't think he would play a game without using all methods at his disposal to meet his goal. I mean they did get that last point and that was his final goal for that game.

So Isagi's body instinctively making him pass isn't really the thing that's gonna go against the concept of Ego and make his journey more difficult. Before he made the pass, we see like a birdeye view of the field as Isagi took in his surroundings. And if you remembered from episode 1, Kunigami can shoot from afar accurately, which Isagi knew firsthand. So if you put together the pieces, Isagi knows at his current level he won't be able to get past Barou, so he remembered about Kunigami's powerful left leg so he passed to Kunigami even though Raichi was more open. This "analyzing" skill (think of Isagi like Izuku) is Isagi's weapon and it will be an asset to his journey of becoming an egoist rather than hinder him.

After seeing the first episode and knowing that this show is about ego, I was waiting when this VA would pop up, because EGO, Aomine and Sukuna and Yami, they are embodiment of Ego. I knew beforehand that SuwaJun was Barou (who is one of my fav characters alongside Isagi and a certain white haired genius) and the moment he starts talking, I instantly started imagining what he would sound like during...a certain scene in the next arc. Idk y they made the MC pass the ball in the end, but I hope its not for character development reasons. I hope its cuz his instinct is to score at all costs instead of being limited to just scoring for himself. When ur best scorer is also ur best passer u become un-guardable like a lebron james type talent. That would follow the modern theme they're going with about building around a single generational talent, the ONE. I don't think Bachira will be the monster uniting their team, he has the tendency like the MC to pass the ball if its the right play to make. He's passed to Isagi in 2 of the 3 eps now. I personally like Rensuke being the main scorer at this point since his kicks look to be by far the most devastating, but he's also calm and level headed (its like Jotaro-jojo vibes). Aoashi focused a lot on the importance of the triangle so I think Bachi, Isagi, and Rensuke will be their main attacking triangle going forward based off the ed vibes. I hope that's true, Rensuke's my dude, best introduction from ep 1, love that guy.

Isagi passed to Kunigami because in ep 1, he got hit by the ball from his kick. Knowing that his kick was powerful, he would score from that distance. Correct play but bad mindset to have when you are the attacker.

it's the perfect mindset because at his current level his shot won't get past Barou so shooting is just setting him up for failure, so passing is the right decision here. Yes Blue Lock is all about training your Ego but as shown in this episode (and the rest of this series) teamwork is also necessary. If you hog the ball to yourself the entire time when you're not strong enough to safeguard it, you'll just end up like monk boy and the others who got it stolen. MC is smart and his body instinctively put together the pieces (that Kunigami can shoot accurately and powerfully from afar) and passed to the right person.

If he had not hesitated and still passed, it would have been completely fine imo. You can't be a striker and hesitate when you are the "Attacker". It's just the wrong mindset.

I dont know why you think that is bad mindset, the difference between the two situation (ep 1 where he passed his teammates and ep3 where he passed to kunigami ) is that he got a much more dependable teammates, their ability to score is better than him whilst the 1st ep play is he know he is better and have a better chance of scoring the goal than his teammates. Living example is one of the strongest trio MSN (Messi,Neymar,Suarez) while Messi is certainly the best player out of all them with having three strong strikers they are able to create more chances that Messi alone wouldnt be able to create and I kid you not Messi is really great at passing and is a god at dribbles. Forward is a job that needs you to acknowledge that if there are better chance to score is with other player it is okay to put your ego aside and pass it, its basically what Ego wants IMO when he makes this selection. This is certainly much more present when the opposing team is ultimately better than ours. Bad example of 'Ego' is Mbappe and a good example of 'Ego' is Messi IMO

@@baecuhn Exactly, that's why he's here in Blue Lock. He's not only been brainwashed all his life that teamwork is the key to victory, he's also aware that he's not skilled enough to get past Barou. When you're weak, you'd hesitate before a stronger opponent. That's why Isagi needs to grow stronger which is what will happen as the story goes on. And as he grows, his ego/mindset will also develop. We know the ego, aka the "monster" is in him somewhere, it's just waiting to be unleashed when he's ready. And to move up in BL to even get a _chance_ of developing that ego and mindset, Isagi needs to win, so correct play is more important here than letting his ego cloud his judgment and shooting the goal himself and failing. If you keep watching, you'll see why Isagi actually does have the right mindset and that Barou is wrong.

No, if you look back at episode one, Isagi just repeated what he was taught to do. It was something drilled into him, so it became a habit. He passed the ball instead of facing the opponent head-on. Isagi's pass here may have gotten the team a goal, but he failed as a striker who is supposed to be the one to get that goal. So if anything, this is a problem Isagi needed to fix in order to step forward and become more egotistic.

The way Blue Lock works is interesting. Team Z don't get the proper food or training facilities, true. But one person from groups B to Y were eliminated even though there were 12 to 288 people ranked lower than them. With this first elimination round, each team is only matched with the 4 other groups in the tower that are within their skill range. Not only so but three teams from each tower are being eliminated even though that means losing teams with higher ranking than others. What they're showing us is that current skill level and past accomplishments don't mean anything in Blue Lock.

i think the characteristic that Isagi has is his analytical sense and the feeling of the field. it's an amazing skill for a striker to have, he can analyze the field even in the most intense moments and then make a decision that would be most beneficial for the win. so what we have is someone who HAS that ego but also can "give it up" if it means they will score. he doesn't just stupidly go for the hit when he can clearly see that he can't go past someone who's bigger and more skilled than him, so inside he knew that they WILL get a score if he passes to Kunigami. so basically he's what the japanese team is looking for in the end. if we make an analogy with haikyuu, it's sort of how kageyama learned to balance his ego and his insane analytical skills that the team would benefit from, while hinata learned to have both from the scratch. i assume all of this only based on the episodes we've seen, so i might be wrong
