This is one of my favourite outfits of Hurrem. Her tiara is just the perfect match. The expressions of the Actress are spot on, such talent.

The colours perfectly compliment her hair, eyes and complexion. Warm tones, yet not quite as warm as her hair colour. It’s not my field of expertise, but I think the wardrobe department did an amazing job here. She later wears the same dress after Ibrahim is executed and Hatice confronts her. Perhaps a subtle nod to him sealing his fate here.

That's probably the biggest trouble Hurrem has ever been in. And another proof that Ibrahim was her only real rival, the stuff with Shah, Fatma etc. was nonsense in comparison. Also, an AMAZING performance by Meryem. I don't know if it's maybe her real life issues at the time coming through, but the anxiety she feels while waiting for her fate to be decided is just SO palpitable.

Ibrahim maybe Hurrem’s enemy but he sees her as a worthy opponent, he doesn’t see Hurrem as weak but rather a powerful rival. Hurrem also sees Ibrahim as a serious threat to her position and her son’s. Mahidevran?? not a worthy opponent that’s why Hurrem easily got rid of her, even Ibrahim doesnt take her bs seriously. Mahi relies too much on Mustafa instead of her own position.

It was mainly done to 'age' the actors. The full beard alone will make them look less youthful. And then you can conveniently let it turn white over time. They can't just let the male actors stay looking the same, when they go from being in their twenties to being wizened old men. I agree though. Completely untrimmed full beards are not attractive 🫣
