At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Mahidevran started poisoning Mustapha's mind against Hurrem right from when he was still a child. Imagine having to look at his mother before he could answer Hurrem. She dug her son's grave with her own hands.

Hurrem herself said that the only way she wouldn't see Mustafa as her enemy is if he was her son. Suleiman wasn't going to change the fratricide rule, so Mustafa was her enemy.

Mahidevran was evil in a lot of ways, but it was the system she was forced to live under that bent her mind and will to such nastiness imo. However, she did save one of Hurrem’s children from drowning and was blessed by the Sultan, and even Hurrem for doing so. I believe that is why Mahidevran was allowed to live a long life, although she suffered much loss.

In here you see the difference between hafsa and valide kosem sultan. First 16:46 acts and thinks as a limited sultana while shes valide, the second literally rules the empire and whatever she wants, she gets it.

This show is pure fiction. In real history Mahidevran was a good person and Roxelana hideous and evil and therefor rightfully called "the red witch" by the common people. Mahidevran also didn't kill Mehmet, who died from a disease. This show is twisting history to create strong feelings.

@@mariapapadopoulos3640 yes it written and historical fact. U can read it on Wikipedia or read the writings of renowned historian like docent ilber ortaylı. Most of the things in this Telenovela are fictional and historical wrong. Especially how they portrayed Mahidevran and Hurrem.

People say Hurrem was good 😂 but she was the main villain (IRL too) , so greedy & Cruel . She always played dirty games and used black magic also ! I don't know how people can support this kind of woman , who came as 2nd women & snatched everything from 1st one ! Jahannam is the right place for this kind of woman

@@aysha6358 And her desire to be able to spy on Suleiman (for some reason-it really seems like that'd only upset her more rather than less). But, truly, Hürrem has the biggest household out of any woman in the harem, yet still is made to occupy tiny rooms. It's a ridiculous plot hole how herself, her children, and their servants all fit into that little suite.

don't forget that gulfem was technically the first one here and mahidevran came second and stole her place. hurrem just did the same, it was a cycle and she ended it. she did everything in her power to ensure that she and her children survive and from the looks of it, in this time period, that meant having as much power as possible and being smart, cruel and selfish most of the time. almost everyone was like that, it was a kill or get killed situation. both hurrem and mahidevran can be considered villains because they both did horrible things out of jealousy, hatred & greed but they did it for themselves and their children. and now to be honest, the new room deserves to be hurrem's more because she has more children, can't keep them crowded in a small room when they can have bigger space. mahidevran just wanted the room to be closer to suleyman and satisfy her wish to have a lot more expensive stuff and make herself look even more superior to others.

@@moonchild_94T tbh everyone was kind of a hypocrite, they all told hurrem to behave according to rules but when she got married to suleyman nobody obeyed to the rules and things suleyman told them (aka respect her, stay away from her, not hurt her because it would mean disrespect and betrayal towards him). I'd consider both hurrem and mahidevran on the same level when it comes to being cunning, cruel and full of revenge.
